Ableworld are the largest mobility retailer in the country and believe this is because we genuinely care about our customer’s well-being. We employ professional, caring and knowledgeable staff to work in our stores, and provide quality mobility aids at value for money prices.
We pride ourselves on being an ethical trader who will not pressure sell items and if we feel a product should have an assessment we will not sell these online, as we want to ensure our customers that they are getting the right product for their needs, not just the most expensive mobility aid.
Our stores stock all types of mobility aids, including Mobility Scooters, Walkers, Powerchairs, Bathing Aids and Stairlifts. You can be assured that in all of our stores we provide the same caring approach to looking after our customers, and the same range of quality mobility aids.

As a close family member, I didn’t make the purchase myself, but after hearing first hand about my relatives experience with Ableworld in Stockton, I felt compelled to share just how positive it was.
I recently heard about a mobility scooter purchase and was genuinely surprised at just how happy they were with the whole experience.
From the moment they spoke with Luke and Mark, it was clear they were dealing with people who genuinely cared about finding the right scooter, rather than simply trying to make a sale.
It reminded them of the old days when a handshake meant something, and people actually took the time to do things properly instead of rushing you out the door. They took the time to listen properly, explained the different options clearly, and gave honest, straightforward advice without any pressure.
Their knowledge of the mobility scooters was excellent, and they made sure everything was fully understood before any decision was made, no jargon, no nonsense, just good old fashioned common sense, the kind you don’t see as often these days. The whole experience sounded relaxed, friendly and professional, just how business used to be done.
It’s refreshing to hear about this level of customer service in a world that often feels like it’s moving too fast for its own good, especially to an aging generation. Luke and Mark were described as extremely helpful, approachable and knowledgeable and it genuinely sounded like they still believe in doing things the right way.
I would have no hesitation what so ever in recommending them to anyone looking for a mobility scooter or needing advice about which one would best suit their needs especially for those who appreciate a bit of old school honesty, decency with some added, welcomed humour.
A genuinely positive experience from start to finish and my relative was very clear in saying thank you to Luke and Mark. I quote "youve made my day, week and year. I havent smile this much in a long time. Keep doing what you are doing gents"
They will definitely be returning in the future for what they call “consumables,” and, more importantly, I will be to see Luke and Mark again, even if nothing is bought, just to see their infections smiles.
Warmest regards from a very happy family.

Needed new batteries for a scooter, Went to Ableworld, Stockton-on-Tees for 'Help'. Both ladies very helpful. especially Gemma, who installed the new batteries for me, when I thought I was being 'cheeky' asking!

My walker had a broken seat that made it unsafe. Unsure if it could be fixed/replaced it, Lloyd preserved with it and manage to get the old one off and replace it with a spare they had in store. We have had previous help and never make us feel like a burden, always providing help where they can cheerfully. Very grateful it was able to be fixed while in store as I rely on my walker. Fantastic customer service as always.

I was actually beside myself when I noticed our wheelchair was pulling away from the right side knowing it was not safe. I took it into Ableworld and the Engineer took time to look at it and fixed it for us. What wonderful service! It does need more special attention so they also booked me in for a service in two weeks to change out the chair pad and make sure everything is up and running correctly. Amazing care and concern at our Stockton Ableworld. Thank you!

What can I say. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!!!! Gemma, Diane and team have been there every step of the way. I was getting a powerchair through access to work and my employer and the team helped me with all the details, trialling the powerchair and made it an unforgettable experience. We had lots of fun and I would like to say, I have many new challenges in my life but all you guys have made this experience special and easier to do. 100000000000% recommend.

The website doesn’t indicate whether the slippers are men’s or women’s. Ordered a size 7 thinking ladies and they arrived what would have been an 8 for a lady but we’re apparently a men’s 7! Far too big. They were also in the wrong box and we had to pay for the return and subsequent exchange. Still waiting for these now. Very disappointed

We purchased a power chair during a home demonstration. Although the basics of the chair were demonstrated it was in brief. After two uses it became apparent that the chair wasn't suitable for my wife. Ableworld did agree to accept the chair back but warned they would need to make a charge for any damage caused. Other than some very minor scratch to the foot rest, which I suspect may have been there on delivery, the chair was as delivered, and i have photos to prove this. However Ableword claim the chair had considerable damage (after two uses) and only agree to return 50% of the over £2000 cost of the chair. Be careful about using this company.

We recently visited Ableworld in Stockton to buy a walker for parents. Alan assisted us and provided us with really good advice and support, and helped us choose the right walker. The staff in the shop were all really helpful.

My disabled son’s wheelchair had a puncture. Went to Halfords to see if they had a replacement inner tube, but they only had ones for bikes and not the size required. Ended up at AbleWorld (Stockton-On-Tees) and the two staff members Diane & Gemma were so helpful. They had the correct inner tube in stock. They then went the extra mile and installed it into the tyre for me and inflated. Very kind and friendly. Thank you 😊
