Unreliable

Pre booked taxi two days in advance. Currently, 30 mins late and driver is supposedly on his way. I would have cancelled except money has already been held in my account. Won’t use again.

30 minutes late… twice!

The past two times I used Aberdeen Taxis, it was a pickup at my house and the driver was 30 minutes late. I called dispatch several times as I feared I’d miss my train, and they assured me the driver was “just around the corner” or “should be there in a few minutes “. These were blatant falsehoods. Today the driver was not only 30 minutes late but I could see him parked some way up the street; he’d completely missed my house, despite me standing outside under a clearly visible house number. I’m going back to using Rainbow, never had this issue with them.

Rude Staff


I phoned around 3.30pm 26th Feb 2025, spoke to a young woman and asked for a fare price from aberdeen airport to aberdeen train station, the operator was very rude and blunt, and had an attitude, not sure why anyone would want to book with such rudeness over the phone, i decided my money would be best spent on another firm. Very unprofessional and would not recommend this business to any of my collegues/work associates who travel to and from aberdeen all the time. A shame really as my company would of liked to do business on a regular basis.

Don’t use!!!

Don’t use!!!
Booked a taxi for 9am to airport, confirmed it the night before etc.
Didn’t show so called them and got the usual it’s on its way story!!!
Finally arrived at 9.20am, after more calls from me, nearly missed my flight.
The driver was very good though.
As a company they are unreliable

Late for airport pickup

Had a 5 seater taxi booked for 12 noon to the airport, booking made a few days in advance . At 12:05 no taxi, phone office to check booking and update. Advised taxi on way won’t be long. 12:15 phoned again told any minute. Taxi finally arrived 12:22.
The fair to the airport was £39 for the 5 seater a normal taxi is £26-28 for the same route.

Called Twice - Never Arrived

I called for a taxi and was given an estimate of 20-30 minutes. The operator asked me if I didn't mind waiting that time. I obliged and decided to wait. After 35 minutes I called back to ask what the delay was and was assured the taxi would arrive shortly. I waited 15 more minutes and then decided to leave. I walked back to my destination. Very unprofessional and unacceptable.

incredibly disappointing…

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Aberdeen Taxi (AT), specifically with driver #319. From the moment I got into the cab, the driver was rude and unprofessional. He refused to let me keep my backpack inside the car, claiming he was concerned about his leather seats. This is absolutely ridiculous, especially considering I needed to get to the airport and had no other options at the time.

His driving was erratic and unsafe, making the journey uncomfortable and stressful. To make matters worse, when we finally arrived at the airport, he informed me that he doesn't accept MasterCard, preferring cash or e-transfer instead. This is unacceptable and highly inconvenient, especially for travelers.

I will never use this company again and hope that driver #319 takes a day off if he's more concerned about his car than providing decent service to customers. Avoid Aberdeen Taxi (AT) if you value your safety and a hassle-free experience.

Just Because You Booked, Don't Expect It To Arrive

On Saturday 23rd March, ordered a taxi at 9pm for pick up 12:45am from location near the P&J Arena to Inverurie. By 01:15 still a no show. Called the dispatcher who said he'd tried several drivers and all refused the job. Told me he had a driver that was nearby and would be with us in a couple of mins.

After a further 20 minutes, no show! Called again, dispatcher said the driver had dropped off his last fare then headed away from our location!!

Completely useless! Essentially all drivers are self employed and can pick and choose whether they accept a job or not. If they don't think it's lucrative enough to go outside the City to the 'Shire, they won't bother and leave you high and dry.

This crit could probably apply to any of the taxi services. We subsequently secured a ride form a guy that operates his own business and happened to be in the area. He told us how dire the licensing and management of taxi operators by the Council is in Aberdeen.

Tonight I booked a taxi around 00:10 a male telephonist answered my call at first came across helpful, I was engaged well saying around 10mins for one to arrive.
Then once waiting around 8mins then to be told, could be longer. This was no issue, but I but once calling a third time after being text a dispatched car I questioned to see roughly where car was, and in order to greet driver without wait. To then be answered Huh HELLO... told if I hadn't booked for myself quote '' Well if I knew it weren't for you! I will be telling the driver cash upfront then hung up on rudely?! I then called back to ask what's was the issue I then was spoken to like dirt... And told ''well if you hadn't phoned like 7 times''.. Then told when asked his name!??
I DON'T HAVE TO GIVE YOU MY NAME...
I said okay, I then I winna be given you my name.
Wow... Please amazing customer service???

Unstrustworthy. Never use this company

This company will lie to you on the off chance they might have someone available to pick you up. We booked a taxi 40 minutes in advance, allowing an hour to get to the station. It hadn't arrived 50 minutes later. We were told this was due to them being busy. Aberdeen Taxis accepted the booking without that being mentioned. We were told it might turn up in 10 or 15 minutes. It didn't. We missed our pre-booked train and it cost us £93 for new tickets because this deceitful, untrustworthy and disgraceful company didn't give a toss. At least Rainbow Taxis were honest enough to tell us they were booked out as it was Graduation Day.
