QED XT Silver Anniversary 4x Bi Wire Link Jumper Bridging Speaker Cables Review:

I got these to replace ginormous bi-wire jumpers I had already installed a while ago. While they sounded fine I just wasn’t happy with the extra pressure they were putting on my almost 30 year old plastic binding posts. When I spotted these much more tidy jumpers I decided to take the plunge especially at the asking price. QED are a hugely respected brand with a lot of experience so I felt it was an absolute no brainer. My criteria was simple : if they sounded as good as my own then I was hooked otherwise……Anyway they duly arrived in little or no time. I did have a tiny issue with connecting them up as they are quite stiff. The recessed space on the speaker didn’t help. By that I mean the binding posts aren’t flush with the speaker cabinet. At this remove about three days into my ‘demo’ I’m completely floored at how amazing natural these sound. In my system. In my room. With my ears. As it is I have a pretty decent system anyway slowly built up over a half century. What theses innocuous little jumpers have done is simply fine tune the sonics to such a degree that the system is now sounding incredibly balanced from 20Hz to 20KHz. The treble especially is the sweetest my system has ever managed along with the incredible sound stage that’s always been there anyway. The bass, thankfully, is as good as I’ve heard with a beautiful heft to the nether regions and the dynamics are all present and intact as before but with even more freedom. Need I go on 😊

Finally I have to add that first my dealings with this company has been an eye opening experience. Just read the rest of the comments for proof. As you can garner from the review above I was impressed with my buy. Both sonically and aesthetically. Such careful clean workmanship using top notch ingredients and the very affordable asking prices was an absolute no brainer. Why am I only finding out about this company now??? Finally as mentioned before the customer service is genuine, unhurried and just an enjoyable experience. These people care and are not afraid to tell it as it is. If they feel that there’s absolutely no reason to spend your money on something that may not complement your system they will tell you. Thank you Tim.

Saw some speaker bridging links for sale on their ebay site. Asked if some could be made using the same cable as I used for my loudspeakers. Two pairs were quickly made for me at a very reasonable price. Response to emails was very quick and the service was excellent. Highly recommended.

Great personal service from A1 Sound, who were very helpful in recommending speaker cables that would compliment my Hi Fi system. They also took the time to explain the differing sound characteristics of copper vs silver core cables and to match with my preference.

I did not want to pay out the significant additional cost of branded termination plugs and they recommended generic gold plated banana plugs. Very happy with the quality of cable and termination of plugs provided.
