UNPROFESSIONAL
As a freelancer applying for a role through their platform, I spent around 6 to 7 hours building a full portfolio on their website. I added screenshots, case studies, detailed project information, links to my LinkedIn profile, and my other freelancing profiles, and I prepared for the interview.
Then, they rejected my application the same day and told me they only reviewed the role I applied for, not the portfolio I created. None of the materials I prepared were reviewed. Their reason was “low demand” for the role, which raises a simple question: if demand is low, why was the role posted in the first place?
What makes it worse is that after rejecting my application, they blocked access to the portfolio I built, so I could not reuse it elsewhere. Losing work I created and uploaded is frustrating and feels unfair.
Overall, the experience was unprofessional and rude, and I genuinely regret applying.
