I have had 8x8 for several years. I would give it 0 stars if that was an option. My phone rings, but I cannot log into the Admin Console. I cannot log into the desk to the app. I try to reset the password and it says it is sending me an email. That email never arrives. It is the same log in information and email address I have had the entire time. Nothing has changed. So I cant send or receive a fax. I can't contact them because the customer service number disconnects, as it tells me it is going to. I cannot open a support ticket, because I cannot log in. The AI is less than useless. I was given an email address that another person used, and it sent me a reply that it had opened a support ticket, and then two subsequent emails that the support ticket had been closed, and that I needed to log into the Admin Console and open a new one. I cant log in! WTH? I run a business. Obviously I am going to run as fast as I can! But I can't get a portal pin, because I cannot log in. So, filing complaint with any and every agency I possibly can! RUN as fast as you can!

I tried 8x8 years ago, and the service was not good. I cancelled, got a better service and forgot about 8x8.
Until a few months ago when I started getting emails from 8x8 saying the card of my account wasn’t working, and I had a balance on my account. 8x8 had faked an order from me using my old information, and was now trying to charge the card I had on file (which expired last year).
These people are criminals. Run far away, do not trust them.

Garbage customer service. Cant login into my account due to an error. Their automated response from their customer service line is to log into my account and submit a service request. Cant get a hold of a person and can only text some AI chat bot
Edit: Customer service did reach out and was able to fix the issue. Raised to 3 stars since they called me at 3:30am to try and talk about it and the fact that it took me leaving a review non here to get a hold of a person.

This was my first experience with setting up a VOIP system. 8x8 talked me through it step by step and where I had difficulties were patient and helpful in sorting the system out so that it worked for us exactly as required

The technical agent was very knowledgeable and professional in their approach to the phone number issue. They were able to guide me through the issue so that I understood. They also guided me through the part of the process where I had to take some actions myself i.e. changing some details. The agent successfully helped to solve the problem.

Had 8x8 over few years, and didn't have major issues, but starting last year was getting overcharged on every invoice for call records, then was suggested by 8x8 to change the plan so no going to be overcharged anymore and was overcharged again for last 4 month, can not resolve the issue with 8x8 lots of emails, can not get in touch with anyone and have a proper conversation, that's became a company with no responsibility to a customer, they can do anything they want to you and you have no recourse, I'm canceling my account. Can not deal with incompetent people.

STAY AWAY! Your platform is the most complicated and least user friendly platform I have ever come across. I'm a founder and serial startup investor is the SAAS space hence very experienced in using platforms like 8x8. It feels and seems like 8x8 was built for yourself and your coders and not for your customers. Navigating to find simply things that should be done with 1 or two clicks is literally impossible and you have designed your UI's with layer over layer over layer of admin tasks that just makes it completely unfriendly and uusable. I have used over 400 SAAS type platforms over 20 years and I can safely say that 8x8 is the worst platform I have every come across. It shows that it was built by developers who have no understanding of the customer journey.

Listen to the reviews and stay away from 8x8. For a communications company, you would think they have better customer service. 8x8 constantly leaves support cases pending for days only to say that they are "escalting" or moving the case to another team. If you have any problems with your account, do not expect the issue to be resolved for at least 2 weeks.

I signed up with 8x8 hoping for a smooth, professional communication service for my business, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Just one day after signing up, my account was inexplicably frozen without any warning or clear reason. To make matters worse, when I contacted their support team, they couldn't even tell me when or if the verification process would be completed!
This has left my entire team in limbo, unable to work and causing significant disruption to our operations. It's shocking that a company supposedly specializing in business communications could be so careless and unresponsive. If you value your business and need reliable service, I strongly advise you to stay away from 8x8. This company is a joke and completely untrustworthy.

8x8 has terrible customer service. We've tried to call them at least a dozen times, and after 90 minutes or so, we hang up. Their AI texting method is horrible. No resolution my texting or emailing customer service robots. Our phone and text system has been faulty for several weeks.

Have had 8x8 for several years with no problems until I desperately needed support services. Support was useless, aggravating and zero help. So aggravating I’m going over to a different VoIP service now.

I’ve been using 8x8 for 5+ years. I read these reviews and really have had nothing but positive experiences until now.
Our phones work perfectly. However, i understand the change to sms. But the lack of communication to see where we are in the process is horrendous. There’s no email to send to. They tell you to chat with their bot. Their bot tells you to place a ticket or contact customer support. I followed directions to place a ticket but I don’t have the button to place a ticket. I call customer service and it tells me again to chat with the bot. Wait on hold for 10+ minutes and it keeps going. I have four lines with them and no responses for over a week. Giving it one more week then I’m going elsewhere. Don’t care if I have to pay more money. Text message is essential to my business

I had 8x8 service since last 5 years, so my business is running based on phone number and SMS service, some reason last 20 days they unable to restore my SMS service. its huge impact on my business as loss of business revenue. wait for this week otherwise move to different carrier.

8x8 is a massive improvement from our previous services which include,
- Verizon One Talk and Contact Center
- RingCentral
- Aircall
This system is not end-user friendly and requires a VoIP Specialist within your company.
RingCentral is a robust system as well but you are dealing with AT&T's support which is terrible. With 8x8 always make sure to ID your customer service rep.
System is complex and allows you full control. Mind you with full control this means you have a lot of responsibility and need to know what you are doing.
