Terrible support - Ticket #493003 ignored for 3 days

I am extremely disappointed with 3iX. I have been unable to access my business email for 3 days. I opened a technical ticket (#493003), and instead of helping me, they ignored my messages and closed the ticket without a single word of response. This is unacceptable for a paid service. My business is losing money because of their lack of support. Avoid this host if you need reliable service.

I would not recommend this company

I would not recommend this company! Yes we have been with them a few years because they were cheap but I guess you get what you pay for. We have had a few issues in the past but nothing like weve had in the last few weeks. The company is just getting worse and worse. Recently, the whole server went down for nearly 2 weeks. This meant my business website and all business emails were down for nearly 2 weeks. Absolutely ridiculous for them to think it's acceptable repair timescale. The webchat was not working (and still isnt) so I couldn't get help. I had to open several tickets and wait for help, had the same pre-scripted reply about 4 times then no replies at all. No one has replied to my questions in four or five day and I'm still waiting. One of the worst companies I've every had to deal with.
We have now had to pay out more money to transfer my websites to another server provider.

Hidden Fees and Misleading Charges

I have been paying around $66 per year for storage and domain. Recently they suddenly started sending separate payment requests — $61 for storage, then $25 for domain renewal with a 2-day urgent warning. I paid both immediately. After that, they told me I would need to pay another $100 to restore the domain because it had been deleted.

At no point did they clearly explain there would be additional restoration fees before asking me to pay. They kept requesting money step by step without full transparency. This feels extremely misleading and unprofessional. Honestly, this kind of practice feels like dealing with scammers.

Very disappointed with the lack of clear communication and transparency.

3ix.org / HostFast Group the worst service in the world

I have been a loyal customer of HostFast Group, support-billing.com, and 3ix.org for almost 18 years, but to be honest, the services have deteriorated so much over the last 5 years that it is no longer possible to stay with this company. Due to complete dysfunctionality, I was forced to move all my domains to another provider. On average, the servers were up less than 30% of the time, which is an absolutely unusable service for a company that wants to present its services on the Internet. The advertised 98% availability from 3ix.org is a completely unrealistic utopia that has never been fulfilled. On average, the website worked less than 30% of the time, with hourly outages every day. Every day, I had to complain about these outages, exceeding access limits due to zero protection against bots, etc. Nothing works, absolutely nothing. Website protection doesn't work, a billion spam messages, daily outages, the website didn't work most of the day, and this happened every day. Absolute madness. Uploading content to the servers took half a day, hours and hours, there were many interruptions due to connectivity outages, and everything had to be uploaded again and again, even though I have a 500 Mbps internet connection, often even faster. I absolutely do not understand why the owners of 3ix.org and other companies that are part of the group do not try to maintain at least some standard, do not invest in the system, and prefer such a terrible, devastating decline in services. I recommend that all potential clients avoid this service, which does not work and is completely dysfunctional. For me, after 18 years, the service is completely dead... I strongly and emphatically warn against using the services of this provider.

Site Down!

I believe the hosting site is either down or going through a transition. I think they are now run by HostFast and/or dimehost. They no longer have an active license with LiveChat so there is nowhere to go for help.

I've been with them for 20 years and knew that I was getting a modest product due to the price, but I'm still struggling with a loss of the whole site and my dbs. Back up is a must!

Stay away

I have been with these guys for over 10 years. I used to use them as a webhost, but their reliability/uptime was shockingly bad.
I ended up only keeping them to host an email account, which again was very hit and miss, but as it was not super-important, it didn't bother me.
Last week was the last straw when I got locked out of my email account. Getting some kind of reply from their "help-desk" is nigh impossible. I just hope I can get my email account back, so I can migrate everything to a new webhost. I am happy to pay extra for this. yeah, never again.

Basic package is full of security issues

I got the basic package since over 20 years ago, but it has been giving me a lot of weird security issues. People hacking my website, planting bogus files in my server, and someone even used my email account for scamming purposes. As of late, basic package cannot receive 24/7 customer service, although they do get back a few days later if sent an email. If you are expecting a hassle free website, the basic package at least, is not a good option at all, maybe it might be better with more expensive packages that cover security?

Stay away!

Stay away! Website, catishhowl.com has been down for over a week. No email, not showing up in site searches anymore.
Trying to migrate domain and email, and no one will answer.
Company is probably going out of business, and they cannot provide ANYTHING.
You are a fool to spend any money or put your domain with them.
I can't even check email sent to my band.
Again, STAY AWAY. Horrible company that should be out out if business, and owners arrested.

Update - 10/6/2022 - Still nothing from this joke of a company. No website, no emails for the band.
It looks like 3ix is going out of business and website, domain, and emails are gone.
Going to start over I guess - really sucks for the band to lose emails plus all the sent emails.
Pay a few extra bucks for a real company.

These are a rock bottom budget hosting…

These are a rock bottom budget hosting service which are a dollar a month or so! You get what you pay for. Their support staff aren't great but for a low traffic site with reasonable up time and that you don't want to pay the earth for they're a good service. You need a bit of it knowledge as its more a back end admin than a consumer service. But they dont deserve the excessive 1* reviews. As said you get what you pay for. If you don't want the frustration then go elsewhere and pay more.
Of note they have media-text file ratios which means you can't have a cloud Dropbox hosted there and similarly WordPress can push the site over the limit which causes it to be automatically downed which is annoying but they are reasonable about re-enabling your site via a support ticket but expect to pester. As said you get what you pay for and for the price they're ok

i used 3ix for over 6 years to host

i used 3ix for over 6 years to host different websites, current website i host is caveout.co.uk, 98% the website is live and working, had few issues, it seems like if too much SQL database is used they stop the website from working. overall not too bad as a blog or small scale website, with medium level of traffic. i would not recommend 3ix for large websites with predicted heavy traffic website.

5 star for the price
3 stars for reliability
4 stars for quick response of issues reported
3.5 stars overall

3ix is UTTER WORST hosting service providers.

I have bought $12 excite plan for an year (used only for 3 months). Their servers are always slow and keeps shutdown thrice or above in a week without any prior notification. If I asked an information in a ticket, they replay with an extremely irrelevant information. There is no action taken from their end for overdue tickets. They will ask apologize only but no corresponding steps were taken. Utter worst services from 3ix that i have ever faced. Nearly one month i'm waiting for the refund but still i got no proper information from them. They close the ticket without a reply when we asking about refund. Money sucking monkeys.

Extremely bad service and support

Extremely bad service and support. Website has been down for days because of their incompetence and their support is dreadful, very rude support team. Both numbers advertised on their website for our local country are going no where, one of them is a travel insurance company - they cannot even advertise their correct contact details, let alone provide sound hosting services. DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!!

What happened?

I have been their client since 2006 or 2007, but seems they changed of owners or the owner is drinking the money, their service became extremely bad, and also their servers use to be down at least 6 times a day and i can confirm it by email. (i have all the notifications emails of the servers).

The customer service just closed the chat conversation the other day, as simple as that.

My name is Edison Rodriguez just in case you want to contact me, because im really disappointed.

Superb support and pricing

I'm very happy with 3ix.org's hosting plans. They are very affordable.. I have purchased the $12 per year hosting plan for about 7-8 years, and have recommended it for friends who have no regrets with it.

The technical support and billing support is very good and does their work sincerely. For the $12 plan they provide 40 GB of space, which is really a lot.

I had some technical support requests, and these guys were so nice, they just shifted my web hosting to a new server, that had the software i needed for my web application. They even let you use Sqlite database (i had to ask them to enable that for me). Very good indeed. So you're not limited by number of databases in MySQL as such.

Pros:
1. Amazing pricing, very affordable.
2. Very good service after sales.
3. Very easy to navigate the Client Area.
4. Support tickets are very well handled.
5. A lot of space for the website even for a very less amount.
6. There have been no hidden costs.

Cons:
1. The only negative thing i can say is that once i had been auto-renewed. I wasn't expecting it, but the hosting was renewed to my brother's account. And we were in a dilemma why the charge was made.. It took us a while to figure it was 3ix.org renewal.
So there should be an option saying "Don't store my card info".
Anyway, i contacted the support this time, when i bought a hosting plan for a friend using someone else's card, and the support staff has said they will remove the auto renew and inform me via support.

Overall very good if you're an enthusiast of being around good people.
