A Genuine Warning—Avoid 24h Tyres Ltd at All Costs!
I don't usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience as a cautionary tale. Please, please, please learn from my mistake and steer clear of this company. 24h Tyres Ltd has proven to be dishonest, unprofessional, and completely unreliable.
I paid for an MOT and full service with 24h Tyres Ltd using Book My Garage, followed by a tyre fitting recommended by them later. Initially, after eventually getting the service and MOT done after numerous difficulties, everything seemed to be just a bad experience. But after raising a complaint with 24h Tyres Ltd and the Book My Garage website, things took a turn for the worse.
(N.B. Book My Garage has subsequently removed 24h Tyres Ltd from their platform due to the company’s complete lack of response to an investigation into my complaint. That alone speaks volumes—any reputable business would at least attempt to resolve or defend a complaint to preserve its reputation! In all fairness to Book my Garage, I felt they dealt with this well, and my confidence in them was restored with the support they gave me)
In summary -
- Services Were Not Delivered: Despite advertising and verbally agreeing to a collection/drop-off service, they refused to provide it on the day. I had to drive out of the area to get the MOT done, which was incredibly inconvenient. The tyre they recommended was also never fitted.
- Hidden Charges: I was charged more than the quoted price due to VAT, even though the booking made out VAT was included. I paid under protest, simply because I needed the work done.
- Broken Refund Promises: They agreed to refund £65 for the tyre and £10 for the failed collection/drop-off service. No refund was ever issued. When I followed up, I was told an e-cheque had been sent—but when I asked for details, communication ceased entirely.
- Avoidance and Intimidation: Calls were ignored, and when I finally got through, they hung up upon realizing who I was. Weeks later, I received a text at 00:42 AM demanding that I drop a bank dispute I had made to try to recover the lost money. They claimed they had done all the work, and I should stop this because it would delay payment. Who sends messages like this in the middle of the night?!
I’m now going to pursue this with Citizens Advice and hope to escalate it to Trading Standards. Whatever the outcome, I hope this review helps others avoid the stress I experienced.
Stick with garages you know and trust. A low price isn’t worth the risk.
