Xo hotels blue square is 10/10
We stayed at Xo hotels blue square and it was really nice. We could keep our luggage in the luggage locker for free until check in which helped us a lot. Check in was smooth and the room service was great. The location was also good for us as it’s one tram journey away from central Amsterdam. The location is near halal food places and markets that were cheaper than central Amsterdam. I would definitely stay here again.

The location is perfect, close to the center and still in quiet, safe area. We stayed at Van Gogh hotel. So many good connections with tram and area is also walkable… rooms are clean and you have everything that you need. If we come back to Amsterdam we’ll stay there.

Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel, staff really friendly & helpful, rooms clean & well proportioned, plenty of space. The transport links from here into central Amsterdam are fantastic. Bus right outside 40 min ride, tram 10 min walk away 25min ride (tram#2 such a great route, so much to see, goes straight through museum,theatre & shopping districts. Not much to see or do around the hotel area so this is its only negative.

Would not recommend to anybody
After arriving at the hotel and checking in, we went to our room which seemed okay at first. However, when we opened the bathroom door, there was a very strong smell of faeces, and there was visible pieces of faeces sitting around the shower drain. Naturally, we decided to go down to reception to ask for another room. The reception staff told us they were doing a test which meant that the drains were being cleaned out and some came up the drains- but they knew we were checking in, so if this was the case, they should’ve made sure the room was clean. When we complained, they said there was no other room available and they would get it cleaned- we asked again if we could have any other room, and they then were able to give us another room.
The new room was slightly better in that it was cleaner and slightly bigger, but there was still hairs on the bed, dirt on the table and dirt in the bathroom.
Overall, a disappointing stay- rated 3 stars but would not say it even matches this, would not recommend to anybody.

We were first given a room beside a very loud fan. When we asked to move, we were told there were no rooms available, but after we complained, another room suddenly became available.
The new room was no better – the bed sheets had clearly not been cleaned and were covered in hairs. As compensation, we were offered free breakfast, but it was cold, and both the coffee and hot chocolate machines were broken.
To make matters worse, the staff were unhelpful and even laughed while we were making our complaint. Overall, a very disappointing stay with poor cleanliness, poor customer service, and unacceptable standards.

Basic room but great location
Small room, but clean and comfortable. Excellent location close to musuems and concert hall. I didn't opt for breakfast as there were plenty of other places nearby to eat more cheaply, €20 seemed a bit steep for what was offered. Bedroom facilities were basic but perfectly fine and shower unit was excellent. Regarding staff at reception, two of the team could not have been more helpful or more friendly. Sadly, a third staff member at reception was very rude to me when I made the error of leaving my room key in the bedroom, a simple mistake to make, and was very unpleasant to me, unnecessarily so, as I had been very polite to him. A very bad experience and while it was only one member of staff, I don't think I'll be staying in this hotel again, unfortunately.

Okay hotel, but only book it because of a good Price and dont expect anything like 4 star standards. Also avoid the breakfast, probably the worst i ever had, the eggs were literally uneatable, the bread and cheese was hard and dry, probably been lying there since the day before.

Good hostel with a great staff
we stayed in this hostel for 3 nights, arrived and checked independently, if there are problems there is a possibility to do it together with the staff. the room was a quadruple, very large and comfortable there was the coffee machine with coffee capsules and tea bags , a large wardrobe, a small fridge, the safe,A medium-sized TV and 4 chairs. the beds really comfortable with availability of duvets to cover. the very large bathroom with shower with shampoo contidioner and shower foam a large sink there was also available hairdryer. there were 2 towels each. We had a great time!

Great Value During F1 Weekend
We only stayed at this hotel for sleeping during the F1 weekend, but it was exactly what we needed. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, and everything you need was available in the room. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The hotel is also conveniently located, with the train station only about a 10-minute walk away. Considering it was Amsterdam during the Formula 1 weekend, the price was more than reasonable compared to other hotels. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it.

Staff was very friendly helpful and very polite .
Bathroom is big then normal,Bed is comfortable shower is excellent. Coffee machine is good but a traditional would be better. I need boiling to make English tea lol.
In the lounge space to relax and read charge your phone must 😊

Great hotel, Would stay again
This is a great hotel with really fantastic transport to the centre and Sloterdijk station. Price is good for Amsterdam and the trams run regularly from right outside. Very close to the Park and Ride at Sloterdijk. For anyone driving an older car this is just inside the low emissions zone. We therefore parked at Sloterdijk park and ride which is one stop on the tram or a 10 min walk away. Would stay again.
