Extremely Disappointing Experience at PureGym Millhouses SheffieldMy experience at PureGym Millhouses Sheffield has been, without question, one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a gym environment. From the very beginning, I found the overall atmosphere to be unwelcoming, unprofessional, and far below the standards I would expect from a fitness facility. One of the most concerning aspects was the attitude of certain members of the management team. Rather than being approachable, supportive, and customer-focused, I found them to be dismissive, rude, and lacking basic professionalism when dealing with members. This created a very uncomfortable environment and left me feeling that customer satisfaction was not a priority.I was also disappointed by the quality of advice being provided by some personal trainers. In my opinion, dietary and nutritional guidance should only be offered by individuals who are appropriately qualified and knowledgeable in that area. The advice I observed and received appeared generic, poorly structured, and lacking a clear evidence-based approach, which significantly reduced my confidence in the expertise being offered.Additionally, several of the male personal trainers came across as arrogant, unapproachable, and more focused on self-promotion than genuinely helping members achieve their goals. A personal trainer should inspire confidence through professionalism, knowledge, and a positive attitude. Unfortunately, I found some staff members lacking in these key qualities.Overall, my experience was extremely disappointing. The combination of poor customer service, questionable professional standards, and an unfriendly atmosphere made this one of the least enjoyable gym experiences I have ever had. I would strongly encourage management to review staff conduct, improve customer service standards, and ensure that all fitness and nutrition-related advice is delivered appropriately and responsibly.
Massively over subscribed for the size of venue, leading to long frustrating waits for the machines. Arrogant, selfish people hogging weights equipment with bags and bottles 'reserving' equipment, constant hassle to rush sets. Generally an unpleasant experience. It may be around half the price of the windrush, but, if you cannot use any equipment. What's the point???
The atmosphere is so beautiful and conducive
Very clean, spacious and fantastic range of equipment it really is a fantastic gym and I wish I joined much much sooner
Warm, 'cool' friendly place. Well maintained, clean. Convivial atmosphere patrons are welcoming, friendly yet focussed on fitness. Makes exercising a positive experience. Price represent good value for money
JB the PT was very friendly, showed consideration and knew what he was talking about. All other interactions with staff were good. Overall a positive experience and look forward to using the gym regularly.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at PureGym, particularly with how they handled a serious incident at the Bayswater branch.
I was assaulted by a member of staff and reported the incident to PureGym immediately. I was assured that they would carry out a thorough investigation and keep me informed of the outcome. However, after making that promise, I never heard from them again.
Due to the seriousness of the incident, I also reported the matter to the police. The police have requested the relevant CCTV footage from the gym and are conducting their own investigation into what happened.
Despite the seriousness of my complaint, PureGym has not contacted me to provide any update, explain the findings of its investigation, or tell me what action, if any, has been taken. The complete lack of communication and accountability has been just as upsetting as the incident itself.
When a customer reports being assaulted by a member of staff, they should expect transparency, professionalism, and support—not silence. I feel completely let down by PureGym’s handling of this matter and cannot recommend a company that appears to treat such serious complaints with so little care.
I hope PureGym takes complaints of this nature more seriously in the future and improves the way it communicates with customers who have experienced serious incidents.
Same as always, good location, spacious, fair price,24/7,various equipment, bright and fairly clean.Negatives are cold in winter, need more of some equipment and people who damage machines because of banging and using weights they cant handle.
So friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable about the issues I have

Loved the class, Glen has a fab vibe and great mix of training to cover the whole body - it's so busy, everyone really enjoys this class! x

The gym is good when unstaffed. I do try to go when the staff leave, which is at 10pm. I'm abit sickened that when staffed, there can be men that work there in the womens toilets. I get that there is the sign that generally says male attendants could be in the toilets. But there needs to be more privacy, such as individual cubicles for changing with doors you can close. Or a clear bright temporary sign when you walk in to say men are in the changing rooms like in other places. There needs to be a screen that protects you when someone just walks in. Today I turned around in the changing room to a old man who works there just glaring at me. He mustve been doing something in the toilets. But I didnt know he was in the changing room and I couldve been naked. It was a f'cking shock and weird. Why did he feel the need to look at me as he was leaving aswell. How many times does this happen daily to women. I am really worried that his has happened before and that they have seen me with no clothes on because its extremely quick for people to just walk in and out within a few seconds and you don't know if it was a man. Are male staff enjoying this added extra of being a pervert in this job? I'm on a waiting list for another 24 hour gym so I can get out of here.
It's a very nice gym with plenty of space and variety of equipment for a good workout

I am from the US traveling to the UK visiting my daughter. I bought a 7 day pass through the US app because the UK app would not recognize my phone number or postal code. I didn't realize nor was there any signage that PureGym UK does not recognize or honor PureGym US memberships. I explained this to the attendant but he was unhelpful. Guess I should have read their reviews in the first place before paying for the subscription

It’s a good gym and they have been making internal improvements recently so that the space can be used more effectively. I enjoy going here and it’s super convenient.

I have been using PureGym now for about a year. Recently I have been having PT sessions with Maggie, which have been great and really built my confidence in the gym. Maggie makes me push myself which I wouldn’t do on my own. Maggie has a lot of knowledge in the gym and with nutrition. I really look forward to my PT session each week.
