A note of thanks to Lisa at Saga for helping me book a Christmas holiday in the UK when all appeared to be fully taken.
Sad that I have to give such a poor rating to saga when all my previous bookings with them have been satisfactory. The details are as follows:-OnMay 13th I looked up a holiday for 1st of September, and was sent a written quote (by email). When I later attempted to turn this into a firm booking, your system refused to accept it and UNBELIEVABLY INCREASED THE PRICE BY A MASSIVE £631. (18 %). I followed this up with a phone call to your customer "service", which resulted in me being on the phone for the best part of an hour, with the agent being unable to find the email quote. After being offered an alternative price which still fell short of the original quote (which I declined) . This resulted in me having to email a copy of the original quote to the agent whilst I was still on the phone to her. She then undertook to ring me back shortly after the matter had been looked into. This she did and agreed to book the holiday at the original quoted price. There are many aspects of Sagas service which are attractive such as home pick up and return, but your web site and phone booking system leave a great deal to be desired. As for this particular booking is concerned, it has now been resolved to my satisfaction, but has left me with a somewhat jaundiced view of Saga's Customer Service in general, and in particular its somewhat "opaque" Pricing Policies.

Our original holiday was planned to Jordan but for obvious reasons it was cancelled so we opted for the Adriatic Coastal Explorer. This was wonderful.
The MY Amorena is a beautiful yacht, immaculately maintain by the crew of seven. The food was delicious, always plenty and how the two chefs managed in such a small galley was great. Our tour manager, Bobby was first class. He showed his pride in his country with every explanation of the landscape, the people, their history and their customs, their education system and something that was close to Bobby's heart, their food.
He recommended the right places to eat to get authentic Croatian food. Our evening entertainment was well organised to suit the age demographic of everyone on board.

MV Amorena - cruising round the islands of the Dalmatian Coast. Excellent chef, staff and knowledgeable Tour manager - all made the holiday well worth it. And a lovely little ship too!

Amorena is a beautiful boat, great food, excellent staff and stunning scenery. A great holiday

Beautiful boat, beautiful scenery, great crew, good food - far too much! - and the guide was excellent. Also, the chauffeur driven transfers are a great luxury that we really enjoyed, except for the return journey where the driver drove appallingly badly throughout the journey, took our post code for his sat nav whilst driving out of the car park. Didn’t know where his car was and we had to search 3 floors, with our luggage, to find it and then had all proximity sensors blaring until we finally managed to get him to turn them off!

Excellent from being collected to being dropped home.
The tour guide was so engaging with our group and was so knowledgeable, caring and so efficient. We were all so lucky to have Bobby with us. The crew on the Amorena was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, the food the cleanliness, the restaurant manager were so attentive kind and friendly we were thoroughly looked after.
The Amorena is a beautiful boat it felt like a boat from the 1950's such nostalgia, but it had such modern facilities. It was a wonderful holiday from start to finishing. I am so glad we had the opportunity to sail with this crew and tour manager on this holiday. All the guests (27) of us were in agreement it was such a fantastic holiday for us all. Well Done to everyone

Nothing could be easier. Picked up and taken back to your door. All travel arrangements made for you and everything runs dependably smoothly. Friendly booking staff who listen to all your needs. All crew on ship formed a happy, friendly confident team. Nothing was too much trouble and the standard was amazing. An exceptional Tour Manager - Bobby. He had brilliant local and historic knowledge. Was friendly and helpful. Very creative in filling our time so that we had a great time that we would always remember. Would definitely book again and recommend this trip to everyone.

It was nice speaking with a friendly person and not with a machine. Katrina was very helpful and efficient.

Our recent trip with Saga on the MV Amorena along the Dalmatian coast was excellent. The food was delicious, the crew friendly and efficient, the cabins comfortable and our tour manager Bobby the best we have ever had (and we have been on many Saga holidays!).
Thanks to all the crew and Bobby for a really memorable holiday.

The stress free pick up from home was a really good way to start our amazing holiday. The beautiful M/Y Amorena was our floating home - the onboard staff worked tirelessly and efficiently to keep her spotlessly clean and us looked after and well fed with a variety of lovely food, local wines and beer. Our tour manager Bobby always there when needed - a fount of knowledge from where to eat out to any detail of local history we might ask about. A swim off the boat in the crystal clear Adriatic in a bay surrounded by spectacular scenery was a real highlight for me. The local guides at the different places we visited managed to strike just the right balance of information and entertainment!

This was my first time travelling with Saga, and they did not disappoint. The MV Amorena is a wonderful ship. Our upper deck cabin was lovely and very comfortable, the food was varied and high quality, and Bobby the tour manager was absolutely amazing. A truly great holiday from start to finish!

Great service, great holiday on this SAGA trip on the M/Y Amorena along the north Dalmatian coast. The ship was immaculate, the crew were very friendly, attentive and professional throughout - along with Cruise Director Boze' (Bobby). Nothing was too much trouble. The menu was table d'hote with hot and cold buffet breakfast and set lunch or dinner. To get the standard of food out of such a small galley for 32 guests was nothing short of miraculous. Our cabin on the lower deck was spacious and amply serviced by Tanya. All in all a fabulous week which I would highly recommend.

Bobby the tour manager of saga was exceptional. The best tour manager I have ever had. All the staff of the amorena were first class. Exceptional food. Everything organised so well.

We were not advised that the Chauffeur Service pick-up is long before necessary and may mean getting up early, for me aged 90. Heathrow Terminal 5 from our home takes 50 minutes unless there is bad traffic. Saga made the pick-up time 2 hours before the earliest check-in. An extra 30 minutes for possible bad traffic would be sufficient.

We were on spirit of adventure. Sailing to Portugal, Spain and France Everything is included including a shared car to ship and back home. A big reason for us trying saga. Cabins are not to bad. Shower room is small but plenty of space to put toiletries. The entertainment was good. Lots of music from musicals but also rock music in Britannia lounge that you could dance to. Jazz musician Alex was particularly good. The food was good considering it's mass catering but variable in quality. I was told by a member of staff when boarding that I would get food better than the best restaurant I have been too. Not at all true! There was plenty of choice of fish dishes and you could have a steak dish for both lunch and dinner if you wished but the other meat could at times be chewey. When my husband said his chicken was dry, the waiter told him to 'ask for more sauce next time' in addition the chefs often had their own take on the classics, an example being 'cassoulet' that consisted of overcooked pork with a little sausage and just a few beans. We did however have a good roast beef dinner on the Sunday. Beef perfectly cooked. Huge choice for breakfast. We though also did get some rather bland dishes and not many that reflected the places the ship stopped at. In fact I rather got the impression that they were catering largely for the older customers in their 80's which if you have read many reviews there are quite a lot of! Their were some like our selves in their early 70's but very few any younger
One last observation that makes me want to give three and a half stars rather than four. There was not sufficient information and detail about the excursions and we felt we had chosen the wrong ones a couple of times. The included excursions were a little disappointing on two occasions. We would have done better to pay for a different one or just get the free shuttle bus and explore by ourselves. A bit daunting but virgo and honfluir were easy to navigate and would have allowed more time on shore
As others have pointed out the staff were universally very hard working and friendly. Making the quality of service better than other cruise lines I have been on
