Kinto UK is a terrible company

I was disappointed with Kinto. I leased a vehicle for 4 years and really looked after it, never missing a payment.
However I was then charged over £350 for microscopic, pinhead sized "dents" which was sickening. Also, my maintenance was supposed to be fully covered, however I was made to pay for the last MOT and was never refunded.
I should be the ideal customer, one who never misses any payments, look after the car and stays within mileage limits. In return however, I was treated like SHIT.

A Seamless Experience Backed by Outstanding People

I wanted to share my experience with KINTO, which has been consistently impressive from start to finish, and to specifically recognise the excellent support provided by Catriona McLaughlan, Multicycle & Mobility Operations Specialist.

Over the course of my vehicle rental, Catriona has delivered a standard of service that genuinely stands out. She is highly organised, approachable, and incredibly efficient in everything she does. Any queries or requests I had were handled swiftly and thoroughly, with a clear focus on achieving the best outcome rather than simply providing a response.

What makes her approach particularly effective is the balance between professionalism and genuine care. She ensures that you’re not just informed, but confident and comfortable with every step of the process. That level of attention and consistency is rare, and it makes a real difference to the overall experience.

I would also like to acknowledge the wider KINTO team. Every individual I’ve interacted with has reflected the same high standards — professional, responsive, and clearly aligned in delivering a smooth and customer-focused service. It speaks volumes about the company’s leadership and the culture they’ve built across the organisation.

KINTO offers a modern, flexible approach to mobility that is both practical and forward-thinking, but what truly elevates the experience is the quality of the people behind it. Catriona is a prime example of that — a true representative of the brand and someone who goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs effortlessly.

Thank you to Catriona and the entire KINTO team for such a well-managed and positive experience throughout.

Left out of pocket

I have used them many times with no problems but I drove 25 miles to pick up a car but the app would crash when trying to open the car. Contacted support and rebooted phone and reloaded the app but both my wife and I couldn’t open car. Support could not remotely open the car too.

No other cars available so now have no car and had to spend $100 in uber to travel to and from the Toyota garage.

Have to now wait for the $400+ refund plus the $200 that they also take a hold on.

What a DREADFUL and MEAN Company

Have been with Kinto for 2 1/2 years of a 3 year lease. I've NEVER missed a payment.
I took out the maintenance package with them and didn't realise that tyres were also covered. After the first service the Kinto agent went through the service with me and said one of the front tyres tread was getting low and would need replacing, with a price on the form of £164.
At the end of the second service a different Kinto agent to the first one, went through the service with me and said they'd replaced one of the tyres. I gulped thinking this will be pricey, only to be told that tyres were included in the maintenance package .
I'd paid £131 out of my own pocket for the first replacement and two weeks ago asked Kinto if I could be reimbursed this cost.
Going back and forth they've put this on me saying I could have taken the car back to the dealership or to Kwikfit to have the tyre replaced. Why didn't the first agent tell me this. I had no clue.
They also said it's on me because I should've read the T & C's properly. Whatever happened to understanding and fair play?
I guess the other 1* reviews speaks volumes and these in their entirety will bode no favours to Kinto's reputation and future business prosperity when you treat loyalty so abysmally. What goes around, comes around, right!

Absolutely unacceptable experience with…

Absolutely unacceptable experience with Kinto.
The vehicle provided was in poor condition — not properly cleaned and clearly not prepared to a reasonable standard. For a service associated with Lexus, this was extremely disappointing and far below expectations.
The fuel card did not work, which meant I had to pay out of pocket. When requesting a refund (for a very small amount), I was then asked to provide personal bank statements. This is completely unreasonable and unnecessary for such a basic reimbursement, and raises serious concerns about their internal processes and customer trust.
The overall experience felt disorganised, inconvenient, and poorly managed. What should have been a simple, seamless service turned into a frustrating process from start to finish.
Given this experience, I would not recommend Kinto to anyone, especially considering the standard you would expect when this service is linked with a brand like Lexus.

Worst company ever! - BE WARNED!

I would NOT recommend anyone to use Kinto to lease their vehicle through, I had my vehicle on the road for 4 and a half years and gave it back with a small dent and a stone chip both of which were hardly noticeable and they charged me £240. I was also told I couldn't purchase the vehicle because it was going straight to the action so I don't even think they will fix the marks they are charging me for.

Do not use Kinto be warned!

I have contract hired several vehicles over the years and Kinto are without doubt the most unreasonable, indeed sharp, company of them all. I would never hire using them again and my advise is the same to you.
I hired a commercial vehicle, Toyota Corolla Commercial and I checked the damage before return. There were a few scratches on the nearside, just through the lacquer, certainly not through to the metal and all less that the stipulated 50mm. There was one very small door ding. All within the guidelines yet they tried to charge me for all of them including a bulge in the rear bumper but it was delivered like that so had proof.
This vehicle had covered over 80,000, that is a lot of miles for a vehicle to cover with next to no damage and is a flaw in the industry BVRLA guidance which takes no account of the miles a vehicle completes. This is not to say Kinto cannot take the mileage into account but they choose not to and hide behind the BVRLA standards. My previous hire companied didn't and i have no problem when these were returned despite being in worse condition.
I need to point out that Kinto did removed all charges after I complained but ONLY because they failed to tell me I had the right to appeal, NOT because they were wrong with their damage assessment that was already too strict to an 80,000 mile vehicle in the first place. In fact in my last call with customer services the gentleman completely refused to concede their damage assessment was wrong. Attached are the pictures (see google review or the pics), you be the judge.
These are the conditions supplied by Kinto:
Dents:
Dents of 15mm or less in diameter are acceptable provided the base metal or material is not exposed or rusted.
Scratches:
Scratches or abrasions of 50mm or less are acceptable provided the base metal or material is not exposed or rusted.
The red lines on the dent picture I scales using autocad.
The scratches are through the lacquer only.
BE WARNED, DO NOT CONTRACT HIRE WITH KINTO!

I had an outstanding experience with Siobhan. She spent about 30 minutes on the phone with me, patiently helping me resolve an online login issue so I could order my new car. She explained everything clearly, was extremely friendly, and offered valuable advice throughout the process. Her support and professionalism made the whole experience smooth and stress free.

A big thank you to Siobhan for going above and beyond, genuinely a five-star service!

The absolute worst experience I have…

The absolute worst experience I have ever had. Almost resorted to calling the police due to lack of support and customer service. We hired a car to be picked up after 11pm. By 11:30pm, we were still unable to access the car as their app was not working. We called customer service and their advice was to delete the app and reinstall, to which we did. It did nothing so we called again. At this point it was almost midnight. After some attempts at trying to open the door, he simply stated we had to walk over to a different car park for a different car as the car that we hired and paid for specifically was not working. He showed no empathy or remorse for the situation we were in and did not apologise once. After he advised us that the only car available was in a different parking lot, he put us on hold without even letting us know. We walked 20 minutes at 12am in the freezing cold weather to get access to a different car. We waited until 12:30 and this person did not remove himself off hold. We had to end the phone call and call from a different number to see if he would pick up, to which he did. He then advised us that no cars were available, even at the carpark that HE TOLD US TO GO TO. At this point, I had become extremely frustrated and stated I would be reporting this to the police because their lack of service, support and general ability to help was completely absurd. He then advised a car was available and in less than 5 minutes he opened the car for us. This situation was absolutely insane and I will be reporting this to Victorian Consumer Affairs. Please save yourself the stress. I cannot emphasise this enough. This company is completely useless at providing service to their customers. I will NEVER be booking with them again and I will tell everyone I know not to either.

In Australia Kinto is useless

In Australia Kinto is useless. At first their app didn't work and was impossible to download, then when I managed to finally install it (days later) it wouldn't recognise the account that I created, despite resetting the password multiple times. Customer service was non existent and the vehicle that I had booked was not able to be collected. Avoid at all costs.

Terrible rip off experience from Kinto…

Terrible rip off experience from Kinto Netherlands. Website says they will charge 0.18€ for extra kilometres at the end of contract but sent us a bill of 500€ in the middle of the contract. On being questioned they mentioned it’s an estimation and is mentioned somewhere in their terms and agreements which they clearly know people don’t read. So a clear scam to rip off extra money from their customers. They made us sign a hard copy where terms and agreements was a website link.
