Green Motion Car and Van Rental - Green Motion Edinburgh Airport Reviews 

Beware!! I’ve rented vehicles all over the world and this was by far, the worst experience I’ve ever had. It’s my opinion, that Green Motion had no intention of honoring the booking made through Priceline. Despite having proper credentials and required credit card for security deposit, the staff at Edinburgh Airport refused to honor the reservation booked months in advance. This was simple. The price we paid for the rental was $554 for 6 days. The same vehicle was being rented for $1100 for the same time period. I know this because a different rental company had the same vehicle and I had no choice but to pay the extra amount from Clark Car Rental.
The treatment I received was atrocious. Avoid Green Motion at all costs. You will arrive at your location, expecting to pickup a rental car that you have already paid for. Green Motion will rent the vehicle you have reserved to someone else if the have the opportunity to make more money. Appears that we aren’t the only family Green Motion has done this too.

Great service, brand new comfortable vehicle

As a Canadian tourist, I rented a van through Expedia for 7 passengers. There was an image of a traditional van as an image and I thought nothing of it. When I arrived in Edinburgh, Scotland I was presented with a small SUV that had fold down seats in the rear row suitable for very young children. How was I supposed to travel through the Scottish Highlands with Six people and luggage? I was advised that the local definition of a van was a mini-bus. This was utter nonsense to me. The picture provided by Expedia was in fact a van or mini-bus. I had to pay an additional $1,400 quid for the upgrade on what I paid Expedia of $400 quid for 4 days. Expedia is a racket that does not guarantee anything you buy though it. Book directly with the rental company and you won't be misled by Expedia. Absolutely false and misleading agreements made with Expedia are not honoured by the rental company.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS FRANCHISE. 1 star is generous!
Upon arriving at the office to pick up our rental car, the girl assisting us was very pleasant. She asked a male employee, Jacob (can only assume he owns the franchise) a question and was abruptly told ‘Do not ask me questions’. Upon agreeing to pre purchase fuel, she then told us that the car we were renting would no longer be available as it was being put out of fleet before our return. Then offered us a Yaris (we booked a Vw Golf) and we questioned that this was not a like for like. Jacob (if that is his name, refused to give us a surname) quickly became aggressive and argued with us that this was a like for like and when my husband said that he didn’t like his attitude, he said that he didn’t like ours and cancelled our rental.
We rent cars on a regular basis and have never experienced such a toxic environment. Jacob can only be described as a work place bully and didn’t like being challenged.

Good service and staff

Great customer service and efficient workings prior to and after car hire.Only issue was that the parking lot was a bus ride away from airport.

For years I always book through Carjet and always book a Green Motion car. Their customer service is always great. I was disappointed this time in their definition of a mid size automatic car. If that was mid size Toyota Yaris I wouldn’t like to see a smaller car. It was the most uncomfortable car to drive. Comparison to a four wheeler wheel barrow. Very disappointing

It was quick and easy to pick up and drop off the car.
The car was in top condition and the staff are very friendly.
All in all excellent service 👌

Overall hiring process was very smooth. Car provided was in a very good condition.
