Beautiful high-cliff mountains surrounding a nicely designed park with cared-for grass and houses in typical local style. The Hallstatter lake is on walking distance, providing nice cool water and grass with some trees for shade. Great for children and adults alike. Our house was spacious and comfortable. The terrace behind the house gave comfort to dining. I did miss a relaxing lazy lounger there. The only thing that was not up-to-par is the bathroom, which was a bit dilapidated and needs renovation.
Did I mention the excellent restaurant (we dined on the terrace when we could see the sun went down behind the mountains)? And the resort's rental bikes to go cycle around the lake? Nice way to explore! Also, the nearby train station (5 min walk), that took us for a day to the 'royal' Bad Ischl (Top-tip: go on Friday morning to look for local food and treats on the day-market at Bad Ischl's town center, at just a 10min walk from the train station there).

The location of the resort is beautiful at the lake with a view at Hallstatt and the mountains. The accommodation was nice as well as the restaurant, swimming pool, fitness etc.

Great holiday cottage with own terrace and a bathroom with each of the two double bedrooms.
The park is uniquely located at the shore of the lake, providing great views. We loved to visit the tourist highlights nearby, but also appreciated the direct surroundings of the park. Surprisingly the village Obertraun has hardly anything to offer, so we were glad to use the tasty services of the restaurant on the park and be able to buy the most necessary groceries in the mini-market.
Once having visited the obvious and nearby attractions, you'll find yourself in a quite isolated location; be prepared for longer travels if you want more. Luckily enough, the trainstation is only five minutes walk away and bus services stop at park entrance.

Overall the resort location is excellent, also the chalet is very comfortable. Overall the environment is excellent

A very pleasant Dormio resort in Obertraun, a good destination for trips to Hallstatt and at the same time to the Dachstein Glacier and all the attractions (glacier cave, mammoth cave, 5 fingers lookout). Friendly staff, excellent restaurant (breakfast, dinner). Modern accommodation, clean and well equipped (perhaps only the lack of toilet paper and the need to buy it was a rather unpleasant surprise in a resort of this quality). Otherwise, you are doing a good job.

Fantastic location and wonderful resort.

We were travelling as a family and really enjoyed the stay. It was close to Hallstatt, travelling by train and ferry to reach our destination. To the ferry is easy to walk to, however it was easier to travel by train since we were travelling with a 4yo and 6yo. The resort is surrounded by mountains and equipped with many facilities that our kids enjoyed.

The hotel is in close proximity of Hallstatt. It is within walking distance from train station also.
There is a bus station next to hotel's parking place that can bring you to the cable car & Hallstatt.
Nice room & great breakfast is excellent starting point to explore Hallstatt or taking cable car go for skiing or hiking.
We decide to take dinner as well ( half board ) and it was delicious as well.

We enjoyed staying at Dormio Resort. Our house was spaced enough for 2 families with kids and dogs. Fireplace and sauna were great addition to our house. House was equipped with everything we needed (kitchen had everything for cooking, a lot of dishes and glasses). We had a great view to mountain and lake was pretty close.

My family and I have visited Dormio resort near Hallstatt for the second time. The resort is located in Obertraun which is a nice and cozy place surrounded by beautiful mountains. We found facilities, territory extremely suitable for a short-term family-type vacation. I definitely could recommend this resort as place, staff, reservation procedure, check-in/out, response time for any kind of requests is quick and convinient. This year we have booked big chalet for 10 people with sauna and fireplace. I can say that some parts inside chalet should be repaired or changed, such dish washer that didn't work properly, or too small refrigerator (this size forced us to keep all perishable goods outside, and it wasn't so convenience, especially when rainy days were quit common in November). Walls in kitchen needs to be repainted as a lot of splashes have been found there. One sink on the second floor was clogged. We really appreciate welcome kits, such as shower kit, kit for kitchen. But it would be nice if there we could find standard bundle of firewoods as well. Nevertheless, the beds are comfortable and clean, there are a lot of space inside and nice patio area outside, sauna is nice as well. Big trampoline, playground, area next to the lake and swimming pool are fantastic. When I was waiting my friends at reception zone I heard that receptionists gave free of charge drinks card to the guest because of some kind of inconvenience. It means that all staff tried to use customer-centric approach which give me possibility to assess our experience as 5/5.

We were very happy to be there. Everything was great, from check-in, hotel room clean and very espacious, free parking, easy connection to Hallstatt (bus stop almost in front of the room), great breakfast and very nice and friendly people attending at the restaurant.
