Extreme security vulnerability

Extreme security vulnerability. Because these people think it's a good idea to block paste (it is so stupid to block my password manager) you are forced to create short, rememberable passwords because you have to manually type it in. Therefore, your password will be guested, and you'll be hacked. These idiot engineers think restricting a very common practice. Somehow makes them appear better. There is no customer service, every single option, including brick-and-mortar banks are extremely better options than this bank

This bank is a scam

This bank is a scam; they will never refund your money, and it is highly likely that they will side with the scammer (especially online platforms). Do not use them if you don’t want to lose your money.

NEVER use this company

NEVER use this company. I have a car loan that for 2 weeks I have been trying to pay off. Got a pay off figure and went online and paid the amount quote, 2 days later I went to site to check and they did NOT take the whole amount. I called, said must be a computer glitch.

Then it said I owed the difference, I paid it. Checked online again and said payment due in August! Called again said I want to pay today. I had to send a secure message. I have to call back in 2 days. What a nightmare. Don't use this company

Ally Does Not Care About It's Customers

I leased a truck from Koch Toyota and maintained it impeccably. When I returned it, Koch got mad at me and put scratches on it. Of course, Ally did not believe me and they forced me to pay $800. They were completely unreasonable. All they want is your money. I never missed a lease payment in 3 years. I was a good customer. They did not care.

Disappointed

Honestly, after having to dispute a charge that was unauthorized and in a whole different state also that Walmart doesn’t exist I called Walmart and spoke directly to them about getting the receipt information and they had nothing, they said the charge was authorized and didn’t give me my money! So I’m out $ 181 currently looking for a new bank!

Worst customer service

Worst customer service. I called them today about an extension on my car and I was still within 10 days and the lady near about laughed at me on my situation from a job loss. Please get your car loan with someone else.

I do not recommend Ally Bank.

I do not recommend Ally Bank.

My auto loan has been paid off, but I still cannot get the correct lien release. I have called multiple times, sent all the requested information, and each time I am told to wait another 7–10 business days. They even sent me incorrect documents, which delayed the process even more.

Because of this, I have been unable to complete my vehicle title paperwork. This has been extremely frustrating and has caused unnecessary stress.

Closed Account

This bank did the exact same thing to me. I asked to close my account, and they mailed me a check for the balance. I thought it was over, but I then received a letter saying they credited the money back into the account.
I called to transfer the funds to my other bank and close the account for good. They promised it was done that day. A week later, I called back only to be told the transfer is blocked due to "account restrictions." It's a never-ending loop. I just want my money released and this account closed permanently!

Do not ever use Ally Bank

Do not ever use Ally Bank. I’ll spare you all the details of the run around they gave me and how they left me in the dark while they sent a 30k cashiers check of someone else’s money to my house. Making it look like I set up a scam and nearly getting me sued and arrested. All because I chose to go with a slightly less interest rate. Ally Bank almost ruined my life and then lied and tried to hide everything. This is the worst “bank” event that ever has happened to me and most likely ever will.

Horrible Customer Service

Ally Bank—Was consolidating accounts and had to close an account with Ally Bank. Took 2 phone calls both being 20-30 minutes each to accomplish. Took way more time and effort than I ever would imagine. I’ll never deal with them again.

My experience with Ally has been incredibly frustrating. Despite making multiple attempts to resolve an issue with my account and repeatedly requesting to speak with a supervisor, I still have not received meaningful assistance.

I continue to be told that someone will contact me, but it’s been over a week and no one has followed up. Meanwhile, my vehicle was totaled on January 7, and the loan was paid in full, yet Ally continues to bill me as though the account hasn’t been resolved. Even worse, this unresolved issue is negatively impacting my credit.

What has been most disappointing is the lack of communication and accountability. I have made every effort to work directly with Ally, but I continue to receive promises of callbacks instead of actual solutions.

I simply want my account corrected, the improper billing to stop, and any inaccurate credit reporting addressed. I hope this review encourages Ally to take customer concerns more seriously and finally resolve this issue.

Ally Auto is an absolute horror…

Ally Auto is an absolute horror experience. From being locked out of my account, having to make payments over the phone, and the worst non responsive customer service, they took my only ride by breach of peace. This Veteran feels quite let down. No recourse. No Vehicle. No Justice.

ALLY has deteriorated to uselessness

ALLY started out well, and has an easy-to-use website and app, but their customer service has deteriorated to the point of uselessness. Multiple phone calls, with long waits, and long pauses results in...nothing. For a week(!), I tried to transfer money from an Ally IRA to an Ally Checking account, but got one excuse after another as to why it wasn't going through. The last excuse was that someone with a VPN in another state had tried to access my account, but this excuse was not explained to me until day 7. Despite resolving this, and a subsequent 22-minute, and a 49-minute conversation with Customer Service, including a conversation with a supervisor, and multiple assurances that they 'doing the best they can', MY money is STILL unavailable to me. When I finally do get access to MY money, I will transfer my accounts to a bank that values its customers, not just its customers money, and values action over meaningless reassurance.

**Beware of Ally Financial's Total Loss…

**Beware of Ally Financial's Total Loss Lease Process – Read Your Lease Carefully**

If you're considering leasing a vehicle through Ally Financial, read your lease agreement carefully—especially the section covering a total loss.

My leased Tesla Model 3 was declared a total loss. Before the insurance company settled the claim, Ally provided me with a written payoff quote of approximately **$30,995**. The insurance company, Bristol West, initially offered approximately **$33,792**, but after I submitted comparable vehicles, I successfully negotiated the settlement up to **$36,440**.

During the claim, the adjuster advised me that once Ally provided the payoff, any remaining balance after the lease was satisfied would be sent to me.

Instead, Ally never provided the insurance company with a traditional payoff statement. According to the documents I later received, Ally issued a **Letter of Guarantee** requesting payment of the **exact settlement amount of $36,440.47**. I still have not received a detailed accounting explaining how the insurance proceeds were calculated or applied under my lease.

I also made a **$5,000 down payment** when I leased the vehicle. Consumers should understand that a substantial down payment on a lease may not be recoverable if the vehicle is totaled.

My biggest concern is the lack of transparency. I repeatedly requested a complete accounting and an explanation of how Ally calculated the amount it retained, but instead received only a general reference to the lease agreement without the detailed calculations I requested.

If you're leasing through Ally Financial, ask questions **before** signing:

* What happens to your down payment if the vehicle is totaled?
* How are insurance proceeds calculated?
* Will the insurance company receive an actual payoff statement or another form of demand?
* Will you receive a complete accounting if the vehicle is declared a total loss?

Do not assume that any excess insurance settlement will be returned to you. Read every provision regarding total-loss claims before signing your lease. I'm trying to determine whether my experience was an isolated incident or part of a broader practice.

If you've had a leased vehicle through Ally Financial declared a total loss, I'd appreciate hearing about your experience. Were you provided with an actual payoff statement, or did Ally issue a Letter of Guarantee requesting the full insurance settlement? Were you given a detailed accounting showing how your insurance proceeds were applied under your lease agreement?

If you consulted an attorney, filed a complaint with a regulatory agency such as the CFPB or your state's Attorney General, or otherwise challenged Ally's handling of your claim, I'd be interested in learning what the outcome was. Understanding whether other consumers have experienced the same issues and how those situations were resolved may help determine whether this was an isolated event or a broader practice that deserves further review.

I was laid off and asked for a months…

I was laid off and asked for a months deferment. Trying to keep all of my payments on time. Trying to keep my credit good. They told me yes, sent me an email with my new payment date. Then I got a letter 3 weeks later saying no it is denied. NO time to make different arrangements. NO ability to fix it. Have shown a month late ever since. NO help fixing this from them.
