Ableworld are the largest mobility retailer in the country and believe this is because we genuinely care about our customer’s well-being. We employ professional, caring and knowledgeable staff to work in our stores, and provide quality mobility aids at value for money prices.
We pride ourselves on being an ethical trader who will not pressure sell items and if we feel a product should have an assessment we will not sell these online, as we want to ensure our customers that they are getting the right product for their needs, not just the most expensive mobility aid.
Our stores stock all types of mobility aids, including Mobility Scooters, Walkers, Powerchairs, Bathing Aids and Stairlifts. You can be assured that in all of our stores we provide the same caring approach to looking after our customers, and the same range of quality mobility aids.

I first met Liz from Ableworld in Southport 2 years ago when I hired a scooter for the weekend. Because of the manner in which I was dealt with by Liz, I decided to use Ableworld to service my own privately owned Mobility Scooter. I have made purchases from Ableworld since, and I am very happy with these purchases. I arranged to hire a scooter for the weekend over Easter 2025 (last weekend). The excellent way Liz and her colleagues went ‘above and beyond’ to enable me to enjoy a fantastic weekend in Southport. Thank you Liz, and your colleagues for your excellent 10/10 ‘service to the customer.

As a good customer to Ableworld over the years. The after sales customer service is not acceptable, A Spirit auto fold electric wheelchair was purchased early February 2025. However it failed to charge. We retuned this to the Southport store. It is my understanding this was passed to a Director, As it was not a month old my husband had to wait for an engineer. Why ?? 2 weeks later my husband is without his wheelchair. Its had x3 staff testing different batteries. No one informed us as an update. I asked for a full refund. The Store refused said it was down to the director. The director does not respond to my emails. No one at Ableworld know were he is or when he will be in.
Following my complaint . My request for a full refund. I am now informed parts were required for the wheelchair.?Its not a month old. I have no confidence and we have spent a lot of money for this electric wheelchair. I want my money back. Not the after sales service i expect from Ableworld. Shame on them
Response to Ableworld
Ableworld are refusing a full refund. The wheelchair would not charge. To have to replace parts on a new wheelchair is unacceptable. It was the store demonstration wheelchair at full cost. We gave taken legal advice.

I took my mother along to Ableworld's Southport branch to look at buying a mobility scooter. We were dealt with by a very helpful sales consultant (Peter) who explained the pros and cons of a whole variety of different scooters - there were a lot to choose from! He let us both have a drive of the scooters until we found one that was just perfect. He knew his products and was able to tell us the important features.
After spending what must have been ¾ hour, having Peter explain the practicalities of using the scooter, we made a purchase - spending less than we were expecting, I'm pleased to say.
A big thank you to Peter for his help and patience. We WILL be returning to Ableworld Southport in the future - highly recommended!

Pete at the branch in Southport was super helpful when I needed to hire a wheelhair. He shared loads of advice about mobility scooters (a broken scooter occasioned the hire). When I returned the chair early he was very careful to give me a refund on my original hire period.

Bought a walking aid for my mum and had a slight issue with it. Brought it back and Pete went above and beyond to sort it for us. Can’t recommend highly enough and will definitely be back if we need anything else

I rang the store asking about a bed cradle and spoke to a lovely lady who told me they had one and the price. My daughter went to the shop to collect it and was told that the lady had put it to one side for me even though I hadn't said I would be collecting it. Such good service and thank you.

The batteries failed on my husbands mobility scooter and the staff at Ableworld Southport could not have been more helpful . Shaun took the battery and case apart and tested the batteries . He also found the terminal to cable nut was corroded .
He searched for a replacement screw and nut and supplied them free of charge . He was absolutely brilliant in his customer service . Liz was also very helpful and pleasant . We are up and running again thanks to their efficiency and helpful attitude. Wouldn’t hesitate to use Ableworld again . Thank you

I enquired about a new power wheel chair and was shown the range without pressure. I picked one and had a test drive. I'll have it, and will return the next day to pay.
The very next day I was in hospital unconcious and was in for 9 days. When I came home I rang to see if it was still there, yes, paid over the phone and it was delivered just a couple of hours later. Sean was great showing me how it all worked. Liz the sales was great too, she did the sale seamlessly. Top marks for Able World SOUTHPORT on the Merseyside sunshine coast. Will deffo use the store again.
The chair ? A Titan, all nice shiny red.

We were served by Shaun at the Southport store who started well by opening the door for us as my wife has a wheeled walker. Our object was to look at wheelchairs and Shaun could not have been more helpful. He spent a lot of time with us and never attempted to get us to buy something more expensive or do secondary selling.
Well done Shaun, we will be back if we need anything else of this type.

The staff were very friendly, and helpful, and went out of their way to solve a problem.

Great After Sales Service:
Liz at Ableworld in Southport was extremely helpful when I took a wheelchair we purchased over 4 years ago from them as a nut had worked loose. She went out of her way to help rectify the issue = a very happy customer

My sister in law and I visited today to ask about new batteries for her mobility scooter. Immediately upon entering we were made to feel welcome. Liz. (the manager) and Shaun were very friendly and helpful. Although replacing the batteries took an effort, they went the extra mile. Their interaction with the other customers also impressed me. The price of the aforementioned batteries was also very reasonable and a large selection of mobility aids were available. Please shop here if you, or someone you know has mobility needs. 👍👍👍😁😁😁
