Order #204781 — pants and a Light Sand shirt for my beach wedding.

- Placed the order and got an immediate confirmation.
- Then got a backorder notice saying the shirt would ship up to a week late. No issue — I had time.
- That Friday evening I got a voicemail saying the Light Sand shirt wouldn't be fulfilled at all because they weren't restocking the color.
- I left a voicemail and sent multiple texts over the following week. No reply. Total silence for a week during the busiest stretch of my wedding prep.
- The week after, they finally responded and offered Ecru or Natural as substitutes.
- Meanwhile, their website was still showing Light Sand, Ivory, and my pants all in stock. I asked about Ivory (my original first choice) and why the pants hadn't shipped yet.
- The reply at first was to keep the set together, when pressed to ship them they said the pants were also on backorder, Ivory wasn't actually in stock either, but they could make an Ivory one and ship the following week.

By that point I was leaving the country for my wedding in a week. Nothing would arrive in time. I requested a refund. As I'm writing this, the website still shows these items available.

The fit and fabric might be great — I'll never know. What I can speak to is that their inventory system doesn't reflect reality, their communication goes dark for a week at a time, and they held a shippable item hostage "to keep the set together" for a matching shirt that didn't exist. If you're shopping with a hard deadline like a wedding, factor that in.

Best Support I've ever gotten!

I contacted the text support (awesome, btw) and got Harry. Harry was awesome. He literally spent 3 hours texting me back and forth (insane by me) asking him any which questions I could think of to make sure I get the correct clothes for my wedding!

This place has the perfect clothes for a beach type wedding and i could not feel happier i found them for my little impromptu tropical vibes wedding.

Thank you for the amazing support, Harry, and the amazing selection of clothes, WeddingTropics!

Wedding Tropics has incredible customer service & products!

I highly recommend Wedding Tropics! My experience with them has been top notch! I've had really friendly customer service, actually over the top kind service making sure my order was correct. I even have to do an exchange & it's been a super easy process. I bought 2 pairs of the Verona linen pants. One of them I had to do the custom tailoring but they made it a seamless process & they fit my 6'3 thin son perfectly. My other son who is 6 ft & wears a 32 jean, I ordered the regular size of 30 but they were snug so I had to exchange for the 32 size which fits waist measurement of 34.5-36. when you are ordering, you won't be ordering your regular jean size. You need to just simple measure your waist where your underwear sit, look at the size chart & coordinate it with that. The linen pants are so nice, very high end & nice looking! It'll be perfect for my son's wedding.

Anyways, I chatted with the owner several times & he's so kind & easy to make sure you get the right order. I've been very impressed! I own my own business & I understand how important good customer service is & Wedding Tropics is amazing! Super grateful customer & I'll come back!

Customer Service Is Horrible

I ordered a shirt for our wedding. To say the item was not as described is an understatement. While the rest of the shirt fit okay, the shoulders were apparently designed for an NFL linebacker. It looked as if my fiancé was wearing three layers of shoulder pads. I called WeddingTropics to return the shirt and let them know how disappointed I was. I called and called and called for weeks, left numerous voicemails, and no one from WeddingTropics responded. I also sent multiple emails, but all of my inquiries went unanswered. Finally, after several weeks had past, I received an auto generated email that did nothing to address the situation. I sent yet another email and finally received a response from Carrie that did nothing to address my concerns. All that she did was provide a link to the FAQ section and informed me of WeddingTropic’s absurd restocking fee. I told Carrie to have her manager give me a call. I received a call from the owner, Kevin who said that he would waive the restocking fee but told me I had to pay for shipping. I didn’t think that was fair, given the fact that the shirt wasn’t true to size, but I still had details of my wedding to plan and didn’t have time to argue. The next day I went to USPS and shipped the shirt back to WeddingTropics in a nice, clean cardboard box which was unlike how I received it; in a thin, flimsy bag that had a hole in it. Days went by after the shirt had been delivered and I still hadn’t heard anything nor had I received a refund so I called and left yet another message. Kevin finally called back and started screaming at my fiancé. He made wild accusations, erroneously stating that I had damaged the shirt prior to sending it back to him, no doubt trying to justify wanting to deduct $40 from the full refund I deserved. He said that the shirt was destroyed because it was wrinkled. To say that the shirt was destroyed because it was wrinkled is absurd. Apparently he thought I should have had the shirt pressed and dry cleaned in addition to paying a restocking fee as well as ship it back in a refrigerator box so there wouldn’t be a wrinkle on it and I could pay an absorbent amount in shipping charges. If WeddingTropics wants the shirt shipped in a bigger box, the least they can do is provide the container as well as cover the shipping and handling charges. I folded the shirt very neatly and put in a better container than it came in. It was a thick, clean USPS box that included tracking and USPS wouldn’t have shipped it if the shirt didn’t fit in the box. Kevin admitted he resells the shirts that he claims are new so he shouldn’t be charging customers to send back a return. Kevin went on and on, screaming at my fiancé like a lunatic and then hanging up the phone. Not willing to let that I stand, I contacted Kevin via email and told him that if he didn’t process a full refund as Kevin had promised, I would open a bank dispute. Kevin emailed back and was rude, insulting, and completely unprofessional. He again accused me of damaging the shirt because it was wrinkled and told me I should just accept the $75 he was offering me because he would win the bank dispute. I responded to Kevin’s email letting him know that not only would I win the bank dispute, but I would also contact the Better Business Bureau, Attorney General, and Consumer Affairs regarding his shoddy business practices if he didn’t provide the full refund I deserved. I also told Kevin not to contact me again unless it was about my refund. Fifteen minutes later I received a refund receipt via email. There was no note from WeddingTropics so I thought Kevin had come to his senses and finally done the right thing. Sadly, I was wrong. Shortly after receiving the refund email, I received both a text and email from Kevin, mocking me for wanting to contact the Better Business Bureau going as far as to tell me I should contact the FBI and CIA as well and making excuses for why his unprofessional behavior was ok. Kevin was rude, arrogant, and condescending. Why this man is in the customer service field is beyond me.

Reply from WeddingTropics

This customer is absolutely the worst kind for any honest merchant to receive. I am not the first they have done this to, and I won't be the last. They purchased a shirt in early January, 3 weeks (or more) later they purchased another. The second shirt they ordered they claimed fit perfectly. They wrote to our customer service Feb 9th and left angry VM's and emails claiming to have tried to contact us for weeks, which none of the company log files supported. This would be our 800 call records, our corporate email servers (including Google Gmail that we use for a middle server), as well as voicemail records. Three different entities of servers all showed no previous contact outside of current and next day of contact where they claimed to have tapped all three during the course of the month.

The messages received indicated a tough customer, so was escalated to me where I handled the call. In spirit of customer service, (and the obvious type of customer I was talking to), told them I would waive the 15% restocking fee for a full refund, only to find out later in the conversation, the shirt had been laundered. Still honoring my refund promise with the new information (laundered), told them I could not however pay for return shipping, (we had already given them free shipping on the item in the first place) and was now a disqualified return. Told customer to return the item neatly folded as we do resell returns just like all other vendors.

Received item a week or so later. It was crammed so tightly in a USPS Small flat rate box, I am not sure how it was even possible to do so. Imagine an linen XL dress shirt crammed in a box that is about 25% of the size that would be required to be of a reasonable fit. In short, the shirt was destroyed. I was originally not not sure what their motives were in this act as I did tell them we would take the return and waive the fees. Later I realized it was just basic vindictiveness because I would not also pay for the return shipping as they were trying to demand of us. I was not to pleased with this and called and left a VM asked them to call me back that I would need to hold $40 back from the refund due to the condition of the return. When you stuff a linen dress shirt in a small box like that not only does it wrinkle the linen badly to the point it breaks the cellulose fibers, but the collar, cuff, and placket thickeners are now folded and bent, they are damaged beyond the ability to fix with a press. When we received the return in this way, it was not about the money or the shirt, as the shirt had been laundered and could not be resold anyway, it was just the principle of it. They called back un-happy about my decision. I was at the time driving and explained that it was disheartening how when after I gave them a break, especially on a laundered shirt that was not even returnable in the first place, that they would return it like this. It actually required a lot of effort to pull it from the box, it must have required that much more to get the thing in there. I did not yell or scream on the phone as they claim, I simply and firmly explained how rude it was that they would return the shirt in this condition while expecting a full refund and ended the call because I just did not want to argue with them. In hindsight it would have been better to just let it go, but it was, and is quite upsetting to encounter humanity such as this.

They texted a book of text for to me to read, threatened bad reviews, and several other agencies, etc if I did not give them the full refund they continue to say "they are entitled to". At that point, I quickly refunded hoping to just be done with it. Unfortunately, now with their 1 star reviews, apparently they don't follow their own promises and just more vindictiveness. Apparently I should have given everything for free to them as they wanted and should have had nothing to say about it.

Upon receipt of the shirt, we measured. It was correct in the shoulders as would therefore have been the second shirt they claimed fit well. I surmised, due to the fact they have shown themselves to be dishonest in every way this far, and the fact that the item was laundered, that it was worn during this 3-4 week period and shoulder sizing was the excuse they came up with to return.

Unfortunately, these types of folks are a merchants worst nightmare. Fortunately, they make up a smaller percentage of us. Every bad review we receive because of difficult customers, we receive hundreds of 5 star reviews from the honest happy customers not looking for a free deal out of threat of bad reviews. They copy and pasted this on every review board they can find. including google, trustpilot, sitejabber, yelp, reseller ratings, wedding wire - and probably more that I just haven't found yet. You be the judge.

Shipping was super fast

Shipping was super fast! They didn’t have the shirt we wanted at first in stock but we ordered a backup. Hoping the one we prefer comes in before our wedding but very happy with the customer service, speed of shipping, and quality of the shirt!

Everything looked great

Everything looked great. Pants and vest fit great. Shirt was wayyyy to short though so need to call and return for larger size. Got a medium but sleeves were about 2 inches short on each side. I am tall and lengthy though so hoping a large works.

This shirt is gorgeous

This shirt is gorgeous. Exactly as pictured on the site, extremely well made and sized correctly. As soon as we received it and felt the material, we knew it was quality. They also met my deadline without issues and delivered early. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

Awesome Customer Service, Great Beach Attire!

Keli Smith of Wedding Tropics has been wonderful to work with. We had some late-in-process orders for my daughter’s beach wedding, and Keli talked me through style options and delivery times. She promptly resolved an issue that arose, and my 2 orders both arrived earlier than expected (hugely appreciated during this busy time!). The attire is perfect for the big day, and the customer service has been stellar. Highly recommend!!
