Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

our visit to the Vetsnow clinic in Macclesfield was excellent.
The only downside being the mix up with who we sent our claims form. The vet runs a normal hours practice then the Vetsnow clinic in the out of hours.
Petplan were excellent in sorting out for us.

So grateful to staff willing to work over holiday weekends to make what was a very scary experience with our beloved family dog a little less scary. They were so caring and compassionate.

Thank you so much to vets now for their attention and support when bringing our Rose to the clinic.
We was met with compassion, dignity and respect at one of the most difficult times.
Rose passed over rainbow bridge peacefully after nearly 14 years of being our little best friend!
Thank you so much to the vet whom I didn’t quite catch the name 🥰

I want to say a huge thank you to the VetsNow team at Macclesfield who looked after us and our Pug last week.
We brought our beautiful boy to the practice as quickly as we could, But unfortunately it was too late when we arrived.
The vet and nurse who were there to greet us, made sure that our precious boy was treated with the upmost dignity and respect. They were extremely kind and patient, given the situation, and the emotion involved during this difficult time.
Thank you for your kindness, it’s something that will always be appreciated.

We had to take our lovely cat Tabitha on a Sunday. Her condition came out of the blue and needed emergency treatment. The vet we saw was so kind and gave her the pain relief she needed very quickly. Everything was explained to us and tests done but unfortunately there were no options except the kindest and our lovely Tabitha fell asleep on my arm xx we were treated with respect, kindness and empathy and given as much time as we needed. Despite being in shock our last moments with Tabs were as peaceful as could be. I cannot thank the team enough. Tonight we collected her ashes and again the lady we saw was so lovely and the experience was ok. I was dreading having to collect from a busy reception but no. A very calm and dignified experience. Yes the cost is higher but our circumstances happened out of hours on a Sunday and so much better than having to wait till regular hours. Just grateful for all the team did for us and Tabitha x I did leave a previous review but my experience tonight collecting Tabitha’s ashes made me want to update it to include that part of our experience.

Many thanks.

My cat had a life threatening emergency and they were there for him and saved him which was great. Thank you so much. I felt that taking him to examine him without us present or much explanation was impersonal and caused unnecessary anxiety to both us and our cat. We didn’t actually see him again until the following day when we came to collect him. Despite being well insured with proof provided there and then as requested by them I still had to pay £600 up front which was 25% of the estimated treatment cost. When the insurance company reimbursed them I did not receive a refund until I rang them to chase this though it was done promptly after my call.

Great experience with the vet-super reassuring! However ruined by an inflexible Vet’s Now admin team who wouldn’t put the correct details in the invoice. Will think twice about using next time!

The team was incredible!! You can really tell they cared for your dog like it was their own. They have 24hr care and even cooked chicken for my dog. They sent us over pics and videos to show the progress and care my dog was getting, which was beyond kind of them! Couldn’t recommend this vets enough. Thank you again for everyone that helped save my dog:)

We had to take our very poorly dog for emergency treatment to the Macclesfield branch at Heather Close in November 2025.
Everyone was so kind and caring from our initial phone call and to the receptionist and the vet on site. I cannot praise and thank them enough for their compassion and attention. It was a very distressing and difficult time for us all and the team were so very gentle with him and kind to us.
We had everything explained clearly and considerately and we were given information and options that worked for us and our pet.

Brilliant treatment. Extortionate pricing, this is what happens when vets sell out to big business. They have you over a barrel and just keep upping the prices. I don’t know that people will be able to afford pets much longer. It’s no wonder pets are being abandoned, not that I condone it.

The consultant was great and consultation was very thorough.

The staff and facility and speed of response were all very good. The veterinary nurses was very helpful and the vet himself was excellent with a calm and gentle manner while delivering very appropriate and sensible options. The cost of the out of hours appointments however was eye watering meaning it’s not an option a second time.

We were given an approximate appointment time of 7.35 pm. We didn’t get to see anyone until 10.40pm. This was totally acceptable, as they were rushed off their feet. They had 3 emergency’s come in, in a very short space of time and were working hard to save other animals lives. We were kept fully informed and the staff were very apologetic for our delay.
If my dog had needed emergency care, I would have expected to have been seen first. As it was, he had hurt his leg, late that afternoon and was only walking on 3 legs. His examination was thorough and we were given medication and advice for his recovery.
I would have no hesitation in using this service again and would like to thank the dedicated staff who were working extremely hard, on the evening we needed them.
