Found this service online when looking for someone to reglaze an expensive pair of Tag Heuer frames. My frames arrived back to me this morning and am extremely happy with the quality and service received. I'd recommend anyone to use these guys and personally I'll be coming back. I stopped buying glasses from my opticians quite a long time ago due to the savings I could make by using a local independent optical company. The local company are still going and they are very good but I think the prices at Thin Lenses are even lower. Lower prices don’t mean there are any comprises regarding quality or customer service either. I’ve bought my last two pairs of glasses from Thin Lenses. Both have been great and I’ve just ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses as well.
When I’ve had questions they’ve been answered very quickly and I’ve found the staff to be friendly, helpful and professional. I’m short sighted and have a fairly strong prescription. I did spend a while looking at other online optical companies but I couldn’t find anywhere with the same combination of high refractive index (1.74), double aspheric and varifocal lenses at the same prices.
The next time I need new glasses I’ll definitely go to Thin Lenses first. I’d heartily recommend them.

After shopping around with my very complex prescription (-16 ) I was horrified at the prices quoted by several High Street Opticians. I found the Thin Lenses website online and called them for advice and prices.
Wow did they know what they were talking about, not only did they give me great advice on which lenses would be best for me, they also helped me to find frames that would suit my prescription.
My glasses have now arrived, I Love them! I cant believe how thin the lenses are and at half the price I was quoted in the High Street.

I don't usually write reviews but this company is great, excellent customer service, helped me choose right frame and lenses over the phone and frames arrived well within timescales stated, will definitely use again at a fraction of price compared to bigger high street opticians.

They fit really well and have come out really thin, specially that I have a high prescription , My prescription is -7 / -12, also make sure you send you PD, which is really important. Very happy with the quality of the lenses

“ I approached Thinlenses after a might of conflicting evidence from a number of high street Opticians about how to obtain the lightest thinnest lenses for my high prescription (-10). I must admit to being a bit sceptical about buying glasses on line. I need not have been. The information advice and guidance from both the website and the very friendly team put me at ease immediately. I never felt it was too much trouble for me to ring and ask questions no matter how inane they might have seemed to Ash and his team. I was quickly guided to the right lenses and frames and voila, two weeks later I have received them. Absolutely delighted with them. Perfect fit, look great, very very light and less than half the price than a leading high street Optician who is also a Chemist. What more can you ask for?”

I have worn glasses since I was 7 years old. My second son married three years ago so needless to say I've had many pairs of glasses in my life. I was leary to order glasses online especially from a UK company as I live in the United States and I imagined that working with a company abroad would make it difficult to manage any problems that might arise. I decided to give it a try because ThinLenses sells the glass high index lenses that look good no matter your prescription that I could not find here in the states. From the minute I researched ThinLenses and made contact through the website, to the arrival of my amazing glasses the experience was wonderful every step of the way. Ash Mehta, the ThinLenses Team Member who managed my order, was exceptionally helpful. I ordered glasses using my own frames and he guided me through choosing the best lenses for my prescription and frames. I have a difficult prescription that includes astigmatism and necessitates high index progressive lenses. I also had purchased the frames before even knowing about ThinLenses. Consequently this was not the easiest process to advise on. Despite possible obstacles Ash provided wonderful advice and guidance. The outcome proves that the advice was well thought out. The glasses look great and I can see better than I have, using glasses, in many years. I would recommend ThinLenses to anyone looking for a pleasant, high quality experience and a superior product that looks great!

I would recommend this company HIGHLY to anyone who needs Hi-Index lenses, especially the type 1.9 Hi-Index Glass which unfortunately the US FDA does not approve of. My complete glasses arrived in just a matter of two weeks, in perfect condition, high quality packaging, via DHL courier and most importantly they were ACCURATE! I was so truly impressed by the overall service and the end product. This experience highly exceeded my expectations.

Being in the US and having a VERY high prescription (-14 in one eye, -11 in the other), I haven't been able to wear glasses that I felt confident to wear out in public for as long as I can remember (I usually wear contacts). I live in Germany and have found it impossible to find reasonably priced replacement glasses after I broke my last pair. After a quick online search, I found ThinLenses which was the only site I found that catered for very high prescriptions. I was able to search for suitably sized frames by lens diameter, frame material and size. The online virtual mirror also helped me narrow down my choice to frames that actually suited me. After placing my order, I got a call from the customer care team to confirm my order, and I received my glasses well within the promised delivery period.

Considering how many people have very poor,eyesight, I'm amazed now rare it is to be able to get the thinnest glass lenses anywhere! I've had 1.9 glass lenses from Boots for my last three pairs of glasses over a 15 year or so period, but as it was time for new lenses (and at the age where I needed varifocals for the first time) I was surprised to find only plastic available. Boots quoted me £560 for 1.67s - not a price or thickness I was happy with. However, as I have myopia and astigmatism and needed varifocal, I did worry a bit about buying NOT from an optician to fit them for me.

Still, if I wanted thin glass lenses, thinlenses.co.uk were about the only option. Popping into Tesco, I got an optician me measure my pupillary distance and found frames I liked. Ordering the same frames but with 1.9 glass for £322, I crossed my fingers!

Several reviews here said they got phone calls and great service. I just got a confirmation email and the payment taken. I heard nothing for 2 weeks before getting an email the glasses were on the way. At this point I was still apprehensive. Would they be ok?

As soon as I put on my new glasses I was reassured! I've nearly always had to take new glasses in to the opticians for tinkering with nose clips, arms etc but these were a perfect fit and felt great. Even the varifocal element wasn't too bad (I'd heard so many stories about people who couldn't take to them for weeks)
Yes, I'm still adjusting to not peering over the top of my glasses all the time and forgetting to move my head but I love the new glasses.

In terms of choice and price, and the quality of the glasses and lenses I am very satisfied. If you are looking to spend a fair amount on a company you've never used before, it is a concern, especially for something as crucial as glasses that need to be right. The fact is, high street shops cannot offer the thin lenses those of us with stong prescriptions need so we don't have jam jar lenses! Thinlenses.co.uk provided me with lovely quality lenses and glasses at a great price.

I've worn specs. for over 60 years and have a complex perscription which most on line opticians will not touch; so I was a little hesitant at first, speaking with then reassured me so I went ahead, all I can say I wish I'd known about then years ago. They are just great, larger range of lenses, far cheaper, and quicker than any of the high steet opticians( even including the day or so taken up with postage) and over the years i've been to them all.

When my glasses broke, I needed a new pair quickly and was away from my opticians. Thinlenses was the only online company I found that would accept my strong prescription (over -8 in both eyes). I was just relieved to be able to get a pair delivered, but turned out that the glasses were of superb quality and suited me perfectly. Plus, excellent customer service. I placed the order on a Saturday night, and on Sunday morning received a friendly call from an optician to check that I was happy with the thickness of the lenses I'd chosen. I also received an email telling me the glasses been despatched so I knew to look out for the package. Superb price, too. All round excellent - definitely recommended.

I was initially nervous about making such a big purchase online, especially as I have a such complex prescription. After a phone call to the Thinlenses customer service team, the questions that I had were expertly answered and my concerns were put to rest. I am thrilled with my glasses, the lenses are significantly thinner than my previous ones, the finishing is excellent and the glazing is perfect - much better than my usual High St optician and at half the price!!

Communication was initially good when we ordered, and had delays with the lenses having to be returned overseas due to some manufacturing issues.

The price was not excessive for a +10, the fit was good, and the script was ok, taking into account it was an online purchase.

We ordered and paid for the thinnist lenses possible, as the nose pad pressure from the existing glasses were causing a great deal of discomfort due to prolonged use, and a high bifocal script, but the lenses came back from thinlenses much thicker and heavier than the ones we were replacing which were bought from specsavers.

The other problem is the lenses keep popping out the metal frame when we polish them, and the hard plastic nose pads on the frames have now fallen off making them unusable, so we are just going to try and replace through a local optometrist, as the postal option just takes so long and the saving just not meaningful enough to warrent the hastle.

Sorry thinlenses I rely on reviews and most of the rewiews are 100% positive. Perhaps this service would be better suited for normal uncomplicated scripts but our experience has not been good at all.

I have used Thinlenses for a number of years as I got fed up with the poor quality and high prices of High Street chains. Extra thin varifocals in glass are no problem at all, and none of the excuses of other opticians that "varifocals take ages to get used to" as with the last few pairs from Thinlenses I have gotten used to them in a matter of minutes. Keep up the good work Ash!
