Founded in 1874, The Wine Society is the world’s oldest member-owned community of wine lovers. We put our members before profit to ensure fairer bottle prices for both the people that enjoy them, and for those who make them. Because we don’t need to keep external shareholders happy, we’re able to put profits back into lower prices and services, so our members get exceptional quality in every bottle they buy.

No delivery
I arranged delivery on Wednesday as I was at home all day. My delivery did not arrive, so I rearranged for today and received notification that it was due between 11.58-12.58. It still has not arrived (16:00 hours). I realise that this is the courier and not the wine society, but you need to know that they have let you down. I have contacted the courier but have not had a helpful response.
Quick delivery, good value
Quick delivery. Good selection of wines as competetive prices.
The best £40 you’ll ever spend on wine!
When they said “the best £40 you’ll ever spend on wine is membership of the Wine Society”, they were 100% right.
The sheer breadth of choice & quality of wine from every imaginable wine producing region of the world, coupled with first class advice and customer service makes the Wine Society my go-to wine merchant.
Wines for every occasion and taste
I use the Wine Society to buy most of my wines. They always have good offers including focuses on particular regions or types of wine. Their mixed cases are excellent for trying a range and then selecting what you like best. I also buy wine en primeur through the society and store it in their cellars until it is ready to drink. There are no charges for delivery and prices are always at a very competitive rate. Every wine is reviewed by one of their experts so you can select to meet your own tastes. I would recommend the Wine Society to anyone who wants good quality wines at competitive prices.
Excellent service as usual
Excellent service as usual. Good quality wines and efficient delivery. Thank you.
Unacceptable delivery by carrier
I have no issue with the wine ordered but the delivery by The Wine Society’s carrier was appalling.
Six boxes of wine, including a bottle of Champagne, were delivered whilst I was out and left outside of the front door in full view of passers by. It was raining heavily and by the time I arrived home all the boxes were saturated and had disintegrated with several bottles rolling around on the ground soaking wet. The boxes could easily have been left under the carport in the dry and out of view. The wines were presents for people but without the boxes I am now faced with a problem as to how they can be packaged and delivered safely.
I did inform the Wine Society by telephone about this issue but apart from an apology received nothing else in compensation for this quite unacceptable delivery.
I am an extremely unhappy customer!
I normally have a good experience.
I normally have a good experience when ordering from the Wine Society but this wasn’t one of them. I had ordered wine for a family get together and it was due to be delivered on the Saturday. The carrier was DPD.
I received notification it was loaded on the delivery vehicle and then told I wouldn’t receive it until Monday. It resulted in me having a Tesco wine shop

The Wine Society is a wonderful concept and the choice of wines is impressive.
The experience is somewhat let down by the delivery service.
On many occaisons I have ordered wine for an occasion or party and it has not arrived on time and I have to drive to a local branch of Majestic Wines to buy wine and obviously find this pretty frustrating.
Excellent value
The Wine Society has been a go to since I was given a membership as a birthday gift 10 years ago. Although it has an excellent range of fine wines and en primeur offers, it is the lower to mid-priced wines that offer exceptional value. The Society range is made by bona fide producers and always good, while the Society hunts out really good wines from all over and there's always something interesting in the £8-£12 range. There is also the Exhibition range which also features top producers at great prices. Even with inflation hitting wine across the board WS is still great value.
Couriers and wine don't mix
Never any issues when wine is delivered by a Society van. Invariably there are issues when a courier is involved. More Society vans needed !!
Great Wine.
Being a member for some 30 plus years, I continue to enjoy the wines that I purchase as do my many wine buff friends. All are reasonably priced.

Unfailingly reliable delivery of my orders. Wine variety, quality and price among the best of the leading suppliers.
Great wines but poor delivery
Great selection of wines and fair prices. Been a member of the Society for many years and always been very happy with their service until recently. Very disappointed with the current delivery service, it may be free but is extremely unreliable.
Great Wines, Great Service. Even Better Prices.…
A wide range of quality wines offered at prices that compare very favourably with the Society’s competitors and fast and free delivery on dates that can be selected for convenience. I continue to be very pleased.
PROMPT RESPONSE F WINE NOT AS EXPECTED
Mike
Mike, the Wine Society driver for Scotland, was very helpful and obliging. He makes a very good representative for the Wine Society, as of course does the incomparable Scott, who I hear is not well. I wish Scott a speedy recovery from his shoulder pain.
