very rude male worker

Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m writing to complain about the way my son has been treated at the Everyone Active Slough Centre.

For about the past week, a male member of staff has been repeatedly approaching my son while he’s been using the gym. From what my son has told me, the staff member has been quite rude and has constantly been on his case, even though my son was simply using the facilities that he is allowed to use. My son paid for his membership with his own money and only goes there to work out and improve his fitness.

Because of this, going to the gym has become a really unpleasant experience for him. What should be something positive for a young person has turned into something stressful, and he now feels uncomfortable going there. The situation eventually led to him being told to leave the gym, which I find very unfair considering he is a paying member and was just using the facilities available to him.

As a parent, this is very frustrating to hear. My son should be able to use the gym he paid for without being constantly challenged or made to feel unwelcome.

I would appreciate it if this situation could be looked into and explained. I’d like to understand why this staff member kept confronting him and why he ended up being asked to leave.

I look forward to hearing back from you soon regarding this matter

Unhelpful staff and dirty facilities due to shoes being worn inside

The swimming pool area has been refurbished which is great, however, theres no area to leave shoes and no enforcement of shoes being taken off to enter the swimming pool area. People walk mud throughout the changing area, and showers. None of the staff say anything. There is mould already growing back in the new shower areas - it was grim before and it looks like its not being looked after again, so the mould is back.

People take photos and videos from the viewing area of children's classes - again, staff do and say nothing despite the obvious safeguarding issues with this.

The staff on the front desk like to chat amongst themselves more than take notice of customers. They are frequently rude and generally unhelpful. The new cafe area is a good idea but sells a lot of unhealthy options and often doesn't have anyone to serve it!

It all feels like a shame the team are not on top of issues.

Friendly and fun

Was shown around for our first visit by Jack who was very friendly and informative and made us feel good about choosing to join the center.
2nd visit was to use facilities, gym then spa, both of which were easy to access and use. Brandon at front desk made us feel very welcome and comes over as very friendly and proud of the center
Center has a good variation of classes for differing abilities. Look forward to using more

This review relates to Southam Centre: Poor Customer Service/Focus

This review relates to Southam Centre.
Equipment at Southam isn’t maintained to a satisfactory level, it’s grubby and complaints about broken equipment are ignored. I have personally complained on four separate occasions to staff about a crack in a saddle fitted to a stationary bike. The first time was three months ago. I pointed out the large crack on the saddle and said that I was concerned that germs can thrive in splits, cracks, and tears on shared cycling saddles in gyms, and such damaged, porous surfaces are considered "breeding grounds" for bacteria, viruses, and fungi because they trap sweat, skin cells, and body fluids. I was told that there had to be enough faulty equipment across the gym to warrant calling out a contractor to fix it. What a disgrace. The same saddle is still in place three months on. The split is now much bigger, and there is a new split on the opposite side of the saddle. My latest attempt to raise the issue fell on deaf ears yet again. I’m just stunned that the management is prepared to leave faulty equipment in place that’s a breeding ground for germs. The combination of heat, moisture from sweat, and organic material (skin cells) creates a perfect, warm environment for bacteria to multiply. Standard, quick wipe-downs will simply fail to clean deep cracks, allowing the germs to multiply and live for days.
The rest of the site can be really grubby. The toilets are often badly stained, and there can be thick dust on the equipment. The floor around equipment is often really dirty too. Regular cleaning is all that’s required, and members shouldn’t have to ask for this. I have resorted to emailing the CEO of Everyone Active as I just can’t get my voice heard at Southam. I’ve also enclosed photos of the faulty equipment, hoping that pictures showing how just how bad the defect is might prompt some action? Everyone Active was very quick to take our money for us to become members, however customer service and customer focus appears to be non existent at the moment.

Appalling! Wish I could give zero!

I would give these 0 if it were possible!

This review is relating to swim lessons at Tudor grange facility in Solihull.

I moved both of my children here early February, they had 3 lessons each and I wasn’t happy with either lesson. My eldest was shouted at because he didn’t hear the instruction in the over crowded swim lane!

My youngest was in a small roped off section of a pool with an instructor in there with them but the area was far too small for the amount of children.

I found both children barely had 15 minutes actual swimming per lesson.

After complaining at reception and to the staff my concerns went unanswered so I made the decision to cancel and find alternative arrangements.

I cancelled on the 28th of February,

I had already paid £76.48 per child. This price includes
1- Remaining cost of the month (February)
2- £10 joining fee
3- Monthly cost for March
4 - £36.38 per child for April
This is a total of £225.72 for 3 lessons per child.

I have tried to chase a refund for April but because I didn’t cancel until 28th of February I was told I wasn’t eligible, I followed this up with a complaint to the general manager of everyone active Jacob Harley-Beckett but got that same response. “Check our terms and conditions”
I feel badly let down by this company, I haven’t even had an apology regarding how bad I felt the lessons were.

The only good thing to come out of this is I found a small swim group in Solihull who are brilliant and my children are both happy and thriving.

Please avoid everyone active at all costs or at least push for a free trial lesson to avoid the pain I’ve been through.

My comments are for Bracknell Everyone…

My comments are for Bracknell Everyone Active. Having reached my annual swimming renewal again I always have to remind myself how good it is for me! Always tempting to have a long lunch rather than go for a swim but I always feel better once I'm in the water. Then there is the added bonus of cheerful staff that always greet 'customers' with a bright smile, from the cleaners / life guards to the staff that I know by name including but not limited to Michelle, Jenny, Ben, Claire and Mary. Thanks for the past year and here's to another year of exercise and lifting my mood.

Disgraceful New Parking System!

Like many other members, I was caught off guard by the recently introduced parking system and received two PCNs within just two weeks. As a loyal customer for over 10 years, I didn’t notice the new outdoor signage or any guidance at the reception (if any!!) since I usually arrive in the evening and head straight to the gate.

To my surprise, both of my appeals were rejected, even though I provided evidence that I was at the pool and therefore eligible for free parking. Even more frustrating, my second PCN appeal was denied for an incident that occurred before I was even notified about the first PCN!

I found the Everyone Active management team completely unhelpful, they seemed to wash their hands of the issue. It is unbelievable that they cannot intervene in our favour against ParkingEye. I am not entirely sure what role the Council plays in all of this, but the situation is disgraceful. I feel bullied, and it is clear this system is more about generating revenue than fairness.

Unfortunately, I now feel compelled to boycott Everyone Active.

Website is awful - absolute waste of time!

Website is awful, not fit for purpose and makes it impossible to book swimming lessons for your child. I have had an account before and have two children so an absolute farce to log back in and rebook. Tried to send an enquiry form, wouldn’t send. Absolutely useless and I’m very frustrated after spending at least 30mins just trying to give them my money. Absolute joke! Will see if I have any more luck booking in person, better hope the lesson I wanted is still available!!

This Centre has a Warm, Therapeutic Vibe For Both The Mind, Body And Soul!

This Centre has an air of warmth Warm, pleasant, genuinely concerned and professional in their approach, best describes the staff here.
They have a very wide range of facilities and tailor-made activities for individuals and groups, all geared towards achieving one's physical health exercise goals, generally speaking.
The instructors have sound knowledge and skills pertaining to their individual roles and are gifted at making everyone forget their physical disabilities and temporary setbacks, through their care and reassuring attitude.
They instil hope and self-worth, which in itself is and can be quite a positive mind reset much needed to engage and achieve one's goal on their road to recovery.
From strength to strength Every One Active, keep up the good works.

I just love Porchester Baths

I just love Porchester Baths, have been going there for decades but had a gap, now so good to be back.
It is such a great asset for London as an affordable tool for our health.
Not to mention the stunning architecture of the interiors, there is nowhere quite like it.

I have been going swimming around 3…

I have been going swimming around 3 times a week and one particular member of staff (Natasha) makes you feel really welcome. She also has the superpower of remembering everyone’s names! She’s really lovely and it’s staff like her that make you feel at ease and keep going.

Thanks Natasha

Cancellation Period

I was told on Friday I had a late cancellation fee to pay as I had gone over by 28 seconds eg: I thought I cancelled at 4pm, which would be exactly 4hrs before the class at 8pm. It was pointed out to me that I had cancelled at 16:00:28!! I was going to cancel my membership if it wasn’t for the wonderful instructors who take the classes I attend. Also I have met some amazing teachers/people in the classes who have really helped me move forward.
If it was just the management team I had to consider I would have cancelled my membership. I’m still waiting to hear back from management to a message I had sent last year!! When I spoke to someone at the front desk I was told that no one checks the in box I had sent the message to. Yet the manager told me yesterday that all inboxes are checked!! The management team need to get their act together instead of making excuses most of the time.
Believe me I really would have cancelled my membership if it wasn’t for the instructors and the people who attend the classes. I am within the 14 days cancellation period!!
