TM Canterbury an appalling experience

Apologies for expressing unhappiness at meditation so close to the passing of the gentle Buddhist monk but I have had, unbelievably, the most appalling experience with Transcendental Meditation. Yes, TM…

The woman who runs the Canterbury Coven phoned to ask if I wanted to do the 1-2-1 intro session with her. When I declined on the grounds of continuing COVID concerns she exploded into a lengthy and venomous tirade, railing at how people in England continue to cower in their homes, unlike people everywhere else on the planet who are going about their normal business. I was shocked and initially thought she was joking, but she wasn’t.

She’s entitled to spew whatever she chooses but I thought meditation was supposed to make a person calmer. She was like a volcano and much more volatile than me, which is rare 😉 I know she doesn’t represent all practitioners but what a terrible advertisement for TM.

The only silver lining from this encounter was that she said she was so disgusted with the UK she is moving to Costa Rica. I for one will be very happy to chip in for her airfare. Adios!
