Lebert Thomas and Ovye were incredibly friendly and helpful! A great bus and tour options. Definitely recommend!
Toot bus london
We have been on other London open top bus tours. Toot was by far the worst. Never again. The commentary was poor with talk about many of the sites when we were not at them. And many were cut off before the end of what they were saying. So we were very confused. The commentators tried to be funny but weren’t, and one sounded like he approved of people vandalising Rolls Royces by taking the Spirit of Ecstacy off the front. And to make matters worse between bits of commentary there was awful loud music being played. It is over a year since the queen died but the commentary still mentioned her. Surely the tape should have been upgraded by now. Again totally inappropriate.
I now understand why the other tour buses we passed seemed to have more people on them. Never again.
The whole experience was an absolute, total SHAMBLES
The whole experience was an absolute, total shambles.
We tried to catch the Tootbus at Trafalgar Square (Stop 2), but the bus chose to go a different way and turned right just before the stop. Luckily I can run fast so I as able to catch up with it, at a different, nearby, bus stop and we got on. We were not offered headphones for the commentary (more about that later) but the journey started. I tried to follow it on the route map. We were, then, stopped, for an inordinate time period at the next stop (stop 5 !!) when I located 4 headsets for us. I loved the in depth commentary - no, it was just music playing, no speech on channel 1, English, until we passed stop 11 (Westminster Pier) when the commentator mentioned the boat trip. Quite how we got to here is anyone's guess. But the driver then turned right, and we went round Parliament Square, before rejoining the official route at stop 3. Then, at stop 4, we were instructed to get off the bus and get on the one in front.
We, then, seemed to be waiting at inordinate time period at stop 8, (just before Tower Bridge) when no-one was getting on or off the bus. Then we reached stop 9 and we alighted for the boat trip.
The boat trip (thankfully not organised by Tootbus) was excellent. Well organised, well structured and an excellent live commentary). I would happily have another tour with City Cruises.
We caught the next Tootbus at stop 11. We went passed Parliament. I was still reading the map. We didn't seem to stop at stop 12 (and I am unsure if we passed stop 12). As I was unsure where we were (with the map in hand) I asked the driver to stop for us at Buckingham Palace (stop 13). Someone else stopped it. I asked if we were near Buckingham Palace. The driver (who had stopped outside Boots the Chemist) got off and pointed backwards to a set of traffic lights. He told us that he wasn't going towards Buckingham Palace but, if we walk back to the lights and turn (left as it would be from where we were) then it would be a five minute walk.
As we wanted to see the Palace then we did this. By this time we had so lost confidence in the competence of Tootbus that we abandoned our journey and did not have the opportunity to see nether Hyde Park nor Regent Street. We walked back from the Palace to St. James Park tube station. What did we see? The next (Yellow) Tootbus heading towards the Palace!!
Why do you publish a designated route when all the drivers seem to follow random routes of their own choosing and routes that bear no resemblance to the experience we paid to enjoy? I didn't pay for a mystery tour !!
Why do you not provide anything that resembles a half-decent commentary? At times there were two staff members on board, driver and ticket seller. Surely one of them can talk into a microphone and tell us where we are.
I would never recommend this day out. It was a shambles from when we started (and the bus chose to miss the first stop) to the end (when different buses were following random routes near the Palace).
Audio and commentary on Tootbus Paris was TERRIBLE
I booked the TootBus for Paris and was very disappointed. The audio was out of sync to the Landmarks we were passing. And didn't work on occasions. Furthermore the commentary didn't go through any history or teach us anything about the city or the landmarks. And the commentary had inappropriate jokes and content for children.
Friendly, polite staff
Really enjoyed experience. Great driver Adrian was polite and very friendly, offering support when needed. Great driving too, ensuring we could see all landmarks. Commentary needs updating as talks about the Queen as if she is still alive.
Great experience
I went with two young children (4 and nine months). The tour started promptly and the tour guide (Mark) from the very start was engaging and informative. He pitched it exactly at the right level, keeping kids and adults entertained and some genuinely amusing facts and jokes. I learnt so much on the tour and couldn't fault it. Thank you Mark for a great day!
Not worth 1 star
Left us stranded at 4 o’clock as that’s what time the busses with toot finish work, they don’t tell you this, when selling you the ticket.Told it was valid all day.still selling tickets at lunch time, no signs on bus stops to say they have finished for the day. So us and loads of tourists stood at bus stop waiting.told to email them, they don’t even bother to answer them. Waste of money and time.
AWFUL, Inexcusable service and Inefficent
Horrible Experience, aggressive driving which made us feel unsafe and travel sick. Massive delays, lots of waiting in the cold when buses didn't turn up, App was not accurate with locations, less buses than advertised. We were travelling with kids and would NOT recommend Tootbus to anyone. As we waited so many other bus companies passed us and more regularly.
Use your vacation time wisely, don't take Toot
We waited for over 40 mins in the afternoon for the Blue line bus to show and it never did. There was no notification of any service disruption. We rode the Yellow bus for 30 mins in the morning and the audio was awful. It was not in sync with the actual landmarks.
Brussles
Brussles. Early December 2023.
TooT Bus was making a big deal about their buses being 100% electric. What they didn't (and likely won't) promote is that they haven't included any heating for passengers and the windscreen (upstairs, which was at least enclosed, given the below 5°C temperatures) not only fogged up and stayed that way, meaning the view as heavily obscured, it hadn't been cleaned recently either.
We got on the second bus from stop 1, which was supposed to depart at 1030, it didn't even arrive until at least ten minutes later.
Then, later in the tour, the driver stopped for 20+ minutes without any explanation. Said driver had trouble accelerating, or braking, gently, leading to a quite jerky journey.
From this journey and Toot Bus's crazy decision to not include heating when running busses in sub 10°C temperaturs, TooT Bus clearly don't care about passenger comfort.
They say you can track their busses using their app, but the app doesn't make it easy to spot the bus, or to identify which route a bus is on, which would be useful if you're waiting for an approaching bus (especially when stop 1 has both the Blue and the Red routes).
If you're going on a TooT Bus, ensure it's a warm day, and hope they've washed the windscreen. Good luck with getting a good driver.
Awful
Awful. 9 of us boarded the toot bus in Paris on the 18th October. The bus was in a collision with a taxi. Our children were left shaken and soaking wet with the experience.
We were shipped from one bus to t he next, no one explained what had happened, no one asked if any of us were ok, if anyone was injured. We were simply moved from One bus to the next.
The bus we were put onto was jammed packed, people standing on the lower bus with no where to move! we had to sit upstairs due to no space downstairs (no shelter and pouring with rain) we did waterproof jackets on and by the time we disembarked the bus we were soaking wet, right through to underwear, not had the experience we paid for. I have been emailing since we arrived home and the communication level has been extremely poor, the emails haven’t been answered properly. No answering emails. I’m really disappointed in the whole experience from start to finish.
We enjoyed using Tootbus for a 3 day…
We enjoyed using Tootbus for a 3 day pass. The buses seemed to be on time and we enjoyed using it as a tour guide of the city. The earphones are optional to listen to the verbal tour of the city, which we did utilize. The driver's and those helping with the bus stops were great and very friendly. We used Tootbus in mid-October and we highly recommend them!
Too many disruptions on Tootbus
We had tickets for 48 hours with Tootbus that included a ride on the London Eye and a Thames River cruise. While our experience was mostly good, there were some problems. One wait for a bus at the Westminster Abbey stop was very long, but all others were short. The commentary could be improved, for example by including the stop number (according to the Tootbus map), exactly where each attraction is, more historical and cultural information and less drivel and silly attempts at humour. Our biggest complaint was the disruptions mid-trip. On the first day we waited over 15 mins for a new driver at one point. On the second day we were asked to switch buses and routes mid-trip, which meant we covered a lot of ground we'd already been through, and then that bus terminated mid-journey, even though the driver assured me when we boarded that we would be going all the way to our final stop. As that trip was already way too long, we ended up catching the Tube back to our hotel; it was much quicker. We would use another hop-on-hop-off company were we to visit London again.
Terrible bus tour
Terrible bus tour, mostly due to the commentary. Very amateurish and confusing, plus it has not been updated since the death of the Queen. It still mentions her in the present term. Shocking.
Every time we visit London we enjoy a bus tour, this was not an enjoyable experience.
Do not use this company in London!
Do not use this company in London!! Big bus and city sightseeing are much more frequent buses. Had to wait an hour for next bus!!. We were told they were every 15 mins. Many people walked away and caught taxis in disgust
Disappointed
Don’t use this bus company!!! Timings of these buses are terrible, we waited for an hour in London eye to catch a Toot bus to go to tower bridge around 6:30pm,,, so many other bus companies operate regular services!!! Once we got in the bus the driver was just stopping in every where inviting people to get in,,, even people just standing for the normal bus stops,,, disappointing
This is our first time on a Tootbus
This is the first time on a Tootbus. Loved the tremendous amount of organisation and resources that's gone into it. Almost everyone were polite, courteous, informative and helpful.
Our driver said to me " can't you see that my machine is not there. Why are you showing me your receipt?" And shook his head and rolled his eyes. (Strike one!) My wife and I proceeded to pick up our headsets and moved on upstairs.
During our trip he nearly collected a pedestrian cross a live pedestrian cross by almost a bee sting. It drew a cacophony of "wows" in 6 languages on the upper deck of the bus (Strike two!)
When we were invited to swap buses at a stop he was ever friendly with everyone and I smiled to thank him which was responded with a hoity-toity look. (Strike 3!).
Otherwise, the entire trip accompanied with insights of locations and the city's attractions were a delight!
Wouldn’t rate Toot Bus in London at…
Wouldn’t rate Toot Bus in London at all. Changed routes without telling us and had to walk for an hour to get to the Tower of London. Had the wrong street name for puck up on brochure. Supposed to come every 10 to 15 minutes but waited 40 minutes outside Harrods and was told there was a bus “missing” and when we got on it was so crowded people had to stand.
Hopeless
I wish I had checked the reviews beforehand but the tickets were purchased by my friend, worst experience of a tour I have encountered, the audio was dreadful, they missed out a lot information regarding statues etc etc, even giving them a 1 star is far too good it should be a -5, I hope this helps people from purchasing tickets !!!
THE WORST EXPERIENCE
THE WORST! We booked a 2 day hop on/hop off bus and Seine river cruise. Day one we were stuck on top of the bus for FOUR HOURS in the heat and then they dumped us off in the MIDDLE OF THE TOUR! The whole bus had to unload. They pointed to a new bus, we loaded that and were DUMPED OFF AGAIN! They won't reply to my emails for a refund and we paid $185.00. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. I would choose "The Big Bus" instead. We saw so many of them go by us while we were STUCK on Tootbus. Absolutely horrible service and the poor employees had NO IDEA what was going on. There were parents trying to cover their kids from the sun and my Mom is 81 with terminal cancer and this was day one of her Paris dream trip! I am so disgusted with this company, they ruined our day for sure and the fact that they won't reply to an email says everything. By the way, if you just do a hop on/hop off RIVER cruise you will get a wonderful experience. We figuired this out the day after this NIGHTMARE. Botabus was AMAZING and only $16 for the whole day.
