Extortionate prices

Can’t believe what they are charging for cakes it’s extortion. Staff friendly and helpful. Good coffee but won’t return due to prices. It’s a shame because could be so much better if they were realistic with pricing like other farm shops we’ve visited

Very negative experience today

Very negative experience today, was most concerned about the awful customer service that was provided, not by the staff I might add, but from the actual owners!

They clearly hold self-entitlement beliefs and attitudes and have no regard for making you feel welcomed.

I would avoid lining the pockets of such rude and obnoxious individuals and would give this awful place a wide berth.

Disappointing visit

Disappointing visit, went for food on a whim and thought we’d come back here despite a few mediocre visits over the last couple of years.

Service started well, food arrived quickly, sizzling beef was warm (not sizzling). Forgot my partners main course, so the rest of the food had been bought out, so had to wait for that.

The waitress came over and apologised, explained she didn’t add it to the order, (which was paid for upfront due to being sat outside). This was fine, stuff like this happens, but then asked us then to pay for the meal that missed again okay, we don’t expect not to pay. But when I pointed out that the rest of the food was going cold as it was just me and my partner, she offered to ‘reheat’ the food. Most places would say don’t worry about the meal that was missed, or we can offer a free dessert, drink. But no, nothing, but it is what it is, we didn’t want to make a scene with other people around enjoying their meals.

From that point on we ended up with a different server, bearing in mind up to that point we were laughing and joking with the waitress. Obviously didn’t like the fact that she made a mistake and was called out on it. When casually presenting us with another upfront bill for their mistake.

Didn’t get give cutlery, waited a while but no servers were around so we ended up getting our own from their station. Saw the same waitress as we were leaving and she just blanked us. The food wasn’t too bad to be fair, but safe to say as locals in Hayle we won’t be going back anytime soon and certainly won’t be recommending it when talking to friends and family etc….

This place has really gone downhill over the years and judging by other reviews we aren’t the only ones that think this, really quite poor.

Great allergy awareness along with delicious menu and good customer service. Nothing was too much trouble and the sweet counter has an amazing array of puddings and cakes to choose from.

Mediocre experience

We arrived and and were shown to a table near the entrance which I didn't like so asked to be moved. This was not well received by the person allocating the table and, in turn, her reaction did not please me. A young waitress then brought some menus, and I explained to her that I felt irritable at what had just taken place, but she handled the situation very well, being very patient & understanding. We did not want a full lunch, just a pot of tea & a slice of cake each, but that meant going back to the counter to choose something. The way most Tea Shops operate is to arrive, go to the counter, order what you want, then find a table, that way reducing the number of Waiting Staff & thereby overheads. On a positive note the goods we ordered were excellent, it's just a shame the initial experience was not up to the same standard.

Best steaks you can buy.

Bought two extra thick sirloin steaks on the 1st April 25. As always the butchers were really helpful. The steaks were really tender and super tasty.
Thank you to all at Trevaskis, I'd never buy my beef anywhere else.

My chicken wrap was cold and had to be sent back.It was also overcooked and unappetizing.
My wife’s nut roast was inedible.
The food was very overpriced and not worth the money.
The young staff were great and do their best.
We won’t be going back.

Lovely place. Poor food

My wife and I have been to Trevaskis farm at least twice a year for the last 6 years or so. We kept coming back as the breakfast was amazing and the farm shop has some excellent produce.
This year breakfast (both times we went) was terrible. It’s as if they have lost their pride and good standards. Breakfast is £14 and it isn’t worth £7.00. The eggs were precooked and very over, the bacon was like rubber, the beans were luke warm, mushrooms were deep fried and the potatoes were so scarce it was hardly worth adding them. It’s a shame as it used to be phenomenal. I was going to complain but a man with 4 kids complained and he wasn’t listened to. In the end he just said he wouldn’t pay. I couldn’t do that but I wish I could.
The staff were great, the place itself is lovely but the food was absolutely awful (dreadful even) on both our holidays this year. Go back to how you were doing things 3 years ago is my advice. Big portions (cooked with care) of all your lovely produce and sourdough toast. It was a winner. At the very least you have to up your standards. I know I have been brutally honest but we both love coming to your farm. We have even dined at night a few times. Really hope you listen to this review as it is meant to be a kindness from customers that care.

Be wary if gluten free

I went to the restaurant today and although everything looked spectacular the staff were uneducated on what was gluten free and what wasn't despite it saying in multiple places on the menu to ask staff about the allergens. I was told that the biscoff cheesecake was gluten free by one of the staff members - biscoff do not have a gluten free range, luckily I was fully aware of this so went safe with a meringue based dessert but misinformation in this format can be extremely dangerous and in some cases life threatening

The best food in the south of Cornwall

We've been to this farmshop / restaurant at least 20 times over the past 30 years. Each time we go, we're never disappointed with the food on offer. We went tonight for a 6pm pre-booked table, and were sorted and sat down at our table within 3 minutes of our arrival. All of the waitresses were buzzing around constantly, and all were ready to speak and smile to us. We placed our orders, and withing 10 minutes, the main courses arrived, quickly followed the side dishes of extra vegetables. The food was excellent, and amazingly tasty!! ( I had belly pork and my wife had chicken with a mushroom filling.) So it's 10/10 from us for the waitresses and the food!!
One slight niggle though, some of the fittings and furnishings were in need of some TLC. The radiator beside up was going rusty on top, and the table beside us was in need of a clean up and re-varnishing. (8.5 out of ten for that!)
That aside, if we ever venture back to this part of Cornwall, we'll definitely be back again!!

Fantastic restaurant !

Best meal I’ve had in 2 years. Puds as big as haystacks. The fish was so fresh I had to hit it with my spoon to stop it flapping. If you’re anywhere in Cornwall, just go. If you’re not still in Cornwall, turn round !
