Rowing Blazers finally fixed a problem
Rowing Blazers needs to update their online sales processes - they charge your credit card, do not ship any items, and never respond to emails - DO NOT BUY ON LINE FROM THIS COMPANY!
After many weeks Brooke contacted me and offered to ship any rugby at the $49 sales price, I selected the South African rugby team Springboks rugby shirt. Then RB owner Jack contacted me and offered to refund the $49. Nice gesture, but it shouldn’t have to take a month of me sending daily emails to resolve the issue - the rugby shirt is nice, but seems overpriced at full price.
No customer service
Like others, I placed an order- one piece in the order shipped and arrived within the week… it was not the size I ordered,… I emailed asking to return it for the correct size and inquired about the rest of the order… now over a week later, no reply from RB.
Shipping errors eventually resolved.
I originally wrote about a negative experience with their shipping and lack of response. I eventually got in contact with them after about 10 emails and received replacements for the items they oversold. I still think their communication could be better, but they did eventually go above and beyond to rectify the situation, so I won’t hold it against them, as mistakes do happen.
Took my Money, Never Shipped
Like several reviewers here, I placed an order on January 13th, my card was charged, and have yet to receive my order. I've emailed twice and tried calling customer service with no luck. I never received a notification that my order shipped. In the third party tracking app, it said that it was still in Brooklyn, but now when I look it cannot locate the package at all. Really disappointed with this purchase because the shipping and customer service has proven to be extremely poor. Get yourselves together, RB!
this is by far the worst experience…
this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had was ordering online retail I place my order on the January 6 he took over two weeks for the order to get here and two out of the three items were wrong. You can’t call customer service they don’t answer the phone and if you emailed them and takes 3 to 6 days for anyone to get back to you if you’re lucky. I’m still waiting to return these two items that I didn’t order and I’m on day four of no one answered my response email or the phone.
Acknowledged the elephant in the room, and that can only lead to good.
In short, this review comes on the heels of exemplary customer service of sales rep Brooke in response to several issues with various orders: an unworkable code, delayed shipment, another unworkable code, exchange of item on sale for less than paid, etc. Instead of receiving service gradually and piecemeal, or worse, an argument, Brooke handled the whole mess in one fell swoop. I found her service so commendable in fact that it inspired me to write an email relating a positive experience I had in reply to her, which I think merits sharing, once again, here.
Dear Brooke,
Thanks for this. I want to share an experience I had with Rowing Blazers on top of the recent experiential goodwill of the company with you lately having made noteworthy contributions in customer service.
This Christmas I bought the Diana navy blazer for my wife BonnieRzM. She's a fashion photographer and influencer with her MFA from NYFA and zillions of fans and followers online, so no pressure there.
Based on the superfine quality in wool construction of the suiting alone, I'd recommend Rowing Blazers. The cut and style of the garment appear well-made, with a kind of bespoke detailing you just don’t find in off-the-rack suits. It has surgeon cuffs, for example: all the brass buttons on the sleeves work with functional buttonhole stitch. Also, under the lapel is stitched with words: Aut inveniam viam aut faciam: from the Latin meaning, “I’ll either find a way or make one.”
This line of quote—from Oedipus to Hercules, adopted as a motto by Francis Bacon, Robert Peary, Alexander Pope, U Penn, and emblematic of U.S. Army Corps, Air Force Squadrons, and the Navy's Center of Explosive Ordinance Disposal—is attributed to Hannibal in response to his generals telling him it was impossible to cross the Alps by elephant. Indeed he did find or make his way not impossibly over the mountains and into the annals of history.
You might think it’s sort of amusing that Rowing Blazers adopted a motto about finding/making a path forward when the sport actually involves going backwards in a straight line. It’s a stream of thought you don’t have to paddle your own canoe on overlong to associate with the blazers of a sea change.
When I shared these points with Bonnie, she said this deserves to be at the top of their Google site reviews for all the world to see. Maybe. But the best product review ever, IMO, was for a gallon of milk by Edgar. If I were supernaturally inclined, I’d swear by the Dead Poets Society to take it as proof of ghosts unliving among us. Not so much modern-day Thoreaus building shacks in the woods and living off-grid as Poe himself microblogging posts in the Amazon marketplace and waxing poetic online. Have a look-see at his ravenous review and judge for yourself.
Best regards and warmest wishes for 2024,
Michael Krzywicki, Esq.
P.S. Since Trustpilot doesn't allow me to include links, if you want a link to Bonnie's TikTok and Instagram or Edgar's Amazon review, you'll have to ask Brooke.
Fantastic customer service
What fab customer service! When my original order item was out of stock, Brooke and her team were quick to rectify the situation and offer an alternative solution and fantastic express delivery despite the festive period...USA to Scotland in 2 days!! Currently celebrating NYE in my new Harry's bar sweater feeling great!
Were helpful in support
Were helpful in support even during a busy season. Out of stock item given refund, replacement, and 20% off.
Be Careful…
This company needs to put their customer service and return polices in the same category as the products they sell. Good stuff, lousy company.
NO REFUND WHATSOEVER
I returned my items one month ago and I still haven't received a refund. The tracking link is going to expire soon because it lasts only for 4 months. Then it's gone...and I won't be able to state that my order has been delivered to their offices. They have changed their return online system, lately, and the link that I have (to monitor and track my return) is not working anymore...I don't know what to do. The owe me approximately 250$...and they don't answer my email....they've gone NO CONTACT as soon as I asked for clarification!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK.
For clarity, my return number is 47359049 and my Order number is RB-181818. I returned the unwanted items via UPS using the instructions provided by this company by October 1...it's October 23!!!
AND I EXPECT TO BE FULLY REFUNDED!!!!

Great stuff but horrible return process
First off, the quality of the items is amazing, no doubt about that. However, the customer service leaves something to be desired. I have been emailing for several days now about an item I returned that I have confirmed was dropped off and accepted to their warehouse 14 days ago and still no sign of my refund and no contact at all (I have another return i am sending in too and if I go through the same process I may really lose it). I really want to keep ordering from them (I have something that should actually be coming soon) but I want my money back for the item I returned within the time-line and in the shape they requested (with tags, etc).

I ordered an item in early August this…
I ordered an item in early August this year and I have been chasing numerous times and recently after almost 2 months their team responded saying the item was not available. However when I asked to refund they went quiet again and I don’t know when and if I will get the money back. There seems to be a scam here where they fake the status of availability in order to get people to pay upfront and not return the money after when the item is not there. It is terrible treatment of customers. Don’t buy from them!

Item was not as pictured
Item was not as pictured. Totally different sweater from what they pictured. Very late shipping. They provided refund, but hard to justify ordering again. Also, Facebook comments are off, so I’m sure they are getting a lot of complaints.

I’ve ordered from Rowing blazers 3 times now and each time they’ve messed up. Never again! They’re absolutely useless.

Over a month no word on where my order is
Ordered Babar white polo July 2nd. It is now July 23. No message no update and item has not shipped yet. 3 weeks to ship one polo? And I paid almost 150 for it. I bought this for a trip and am leaving Aug 4. It it does not ship in next few days I will call card company and file a dispute. Unreal and never shopping at this brand again.

I had a complicated issue with an order…
I had a complicated issue with an order and the customer service representative, Brook, handled it so thoughtfully and efficiently. Would highly recommend!
Ripped off and ignored
I placed an order 3 weeks ago and paid for the additional shipping insurance. RB notified me they shipped the item, but tracking info only indicates label created, they never actually provided the package to the shipper. I’ve followed up 4 times so far with zero response from RB. UPS will not let me file a claim since they never actually received the item, and RB won’t respond to me, so I’m out a few hundred dollars at this point. This business is dishonest and unethical. Avoid at all costs.
Edit: Rowing Blazers has reached out to me and offered a discount on a future order. Their 3rd party vendor still hasn’t sent my order (more than a month after the order was placed) but I do believe Rowing Blazers has tried to do what they can. Hopefully their vendor will either ship my order or issue a refund before another month goes by.

All style no substance. $60 rip off
Updated March 11: I’ve adjust my star rating up to 3 stars up from 1, due to the responsive customer service, swift reply and generous offer from the store manager to replace the T-shirt with an alternate.
Hoping the first t-shirt was just from a ‘bad’ batch I accepted an exact design replacement which was quickly sent to me. I was saddened to find it was no different than the first. It remains unwashed, unworn with tags on and will be stored until I can best figure out what to do with it. A shame, since I adore many of the RB color pairings and designs, they’re fresh and fun and you assume the premium cost means a premium product. Perplexing why the quality (at least for this t-shirt design) just doesn’t live up to the visuals. Note the screen print design itself is flawless, just the cotton t-shirt that’s too rough to enjoy. There’s plenty of excellent, affordable, ethically sourced high quality cotton t-shirt wholesalers out there to choose from.. I hope RB finds one asap to replace whoever they’ve been using.
Original review (shortened) from Feb 7: My first purchase was 2 weeks ago of the iconic Harry’s bar t-shirt (in green) which I regret buying.
First issue was that it took nearly 2 weeks to get it after I paid since they didn’t ship it for another 5 days while saying nothing in the interim. It finally arrived, I excitedly took it from the plastic bag, felt the shirt, then dread set in. This much hyped $60 shirt was super stiff, literally felt like canvas, no exaggeration.
How is it possible to source a t-shirt from Portugal (often known for soft cotton shirts, as France is) that’s cheap, scratchy, thick, sub par quality? A fun screen-print design doesn’t make the feel of the shirt any better, and a wash and dry didn’t change anything except the size- slightly roomy originally so I didn’t mind it shrunk by a whole size but remains dreadfully stiff.
I’m experienced with buying tops and indie fashion items (once a personal asst to an high end buyer for a fashion co) and am particularly attuned to cotton quality which can be judged by hand feel. I figured RB wouldn’t exactly use wonderfully soft cotton t-shirts made from durable Tangϋis from Peru- the best in the world, but this is the other end of the spectrum. When an inferior cotton like this (likely a blend that’s been treated in a chemical bath) is such poor quality there’s no way normal wear or a few more washings help soften it.
The t-shirt brand source is surely generic and Chinese made, of crappy cotton RB bought in bulk to keep costs down. A made in Portugal tag was added (like in the US, likely a technical thing only meaning it was partly assembled or sewn there) then is added the artsy screen print so they can advertise it as a high end product.. what they pay in bulk versus retail price paid difference means a high profit spread for them while the customer is left with a t-shirt no one could love wearing.
Feels like a junky shirt you’d find in a Salvation Army bin you’d only use once to polish old furniture with or clean rust off vintage bike wheels.
Since the T-shirt is washed and dried now I can’t return it for a refund. This has been a lose lose scenario. I lost money, they lost a customer. It’s not hard to use decent bulk t-shirt stock, which isn’t expensive. Being cheap shows lack of character and is disrespectful to buying customers who assume for what they spent means they’re getting a premium product. Cute advertising doesn’t live up to the hype.
