Avoid Pasha Barbers – Classic bait-and-switch tourist trap in London
I walked past Pasha Barbers near Liverpool Street/Bank and was immediately drawn in by the prominent window signs advertising £19 for a haircut and £19 for a beard trim. Perfect for a quick tidy-up, or so I thought.
The barber (a Turkish guy) got to work without any mention of prices or showing me a menu. No discussion, no clarification – just straight into the cut and trim. Once he finished, he casually informed me the total would be far higher. They tried to charge me £90. I flat-out refused and paid nothing close to that after pushing back.
What makes this especially shady: While I was there, another customer (who appeared to be Muslim) walked in. The barber immediately pointed him toward the “actual” price list – a tiny, hidden sign tucked behind the door. I wasn’t given the same courtesy. It felt very much like they reserve the honest pricing for certain customers and spring the surprise on others – presumably tourists or anyone who doesn’t look like “one of them.”
When it became clear I was unhappy and ready to confront the nonsense, the barber – a total coward – made sure his young son was present in the room. He then used the child’s presence as an excuse to keep things from “getting heated.” Using your own kid as a human shield to avoid accountability for dodgy business practices is low. Really low. Haram behaviour of the highest order, as some might say.
Looking at other reviews, this isn’t a one-off. Pasha Barbers seems deliberately set up to con tourists and walk-ins visiting London. They lure you with cheap window prices, hide the real (ridiculous) rates, and hope you’ll just pay up rather than cause a scene. Quality of the cut? Average at best for what they demand. Value? Non-existent.
Save your money and your time. There are plenty of honest barbers in London who don’t play these games. Steer well clear of this place.

Great cut
Great cut, only £18 for wash, fade, nose and ears, style.
Mo was brilliant 👏
5 star for quality. 0 for Price. BEWARE !
5 stars for quality, 0 stars for price. The barber is excellent, the price is a complete and total rip off. £154 for a hair cut . ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOUR POUNDS !!!! When you come in to a barber you know roughly what to expect (£20-£40 price range), so you typically don't ask the price when you sit down. I used to go to this barber regularly pre covid as he was so good, if a little expensive. I went back a couple of weeks ago. He did not recognise me, did his usual excellent cut and pointed to the discreet price on the wall of £154! If you book on-line it is the normal price of around £40ish. If you walk in and don't ask, unbeknown to you, you are in fact the sheep to be fleeced, the goose to plucked, the sucker to be conned.... and a couple of weeks ago that is what I was. But what a very very strange business model?? If you con someone, they never come back. They complain to Trading standards. They leave reviews on Trustpilot etc..... and you slowly but steadily get a reputation for practice as sharp as your razors. So yes, use them if you book on-line, but beware if you don't. You wallet will be as tidily shorn as your hair.
