I had to contact them because I didn't have any shipping information. They were actually very quick to respond, but some information was missing so they could send the package, which they hadn't requested two weeks after the purchase. They were very kind at all times, and that made my annoyance disappear.

The build quality is great, support wallet also good but don't have an app that can see all the asset in one place , so is quite difficult to see total asset one owns, and the shipping is very bad, my first purchase is lost due to the shipping agent.

Keystone Review: Great Hardware, But the "Shamir Backup" is Misleading
I recently purchased the Keystone 3 Pro, and overall, it's a solid hardware wallet. The build quality is excellent, the touchscreen is responsive, and the feature set is impressive, especially the 100% air-gapped operation via QR codes. It feels secure and well-made.

However, I have one significant criticism that potential buyers should be aware of, particularly those interested in advanced seed phrase backup methods.

The Shamir Backup Issue

I specifically bought the Keystone expecting it to have a real, implemented Shamir backup (like SLIP-0039), which is a secure method to split a seed into multiple shares. I was expecting them to have a real Shamir backup - SLIP-0039, not the one they offer on the device I bought from them - the 3 Pro.

To my disappointment, the Keystone 3 Pro does not support the industry-standard SLIP-0039. Instead, it uses a different, proprietary system. It supports something different from Shamir backup - a phrase of 20 or 33 words I think they were. This proprietary method creates a single, elongated seed phrase (20 or 33 words) instead of generating multiple, distinct shares.

This is a major drawback because:

Lack of Interoperability: Your backup is locked into the Keystone ecosystem. You cannot recover your wallet using shares on another device that supports the genuine SLIP-0039 standard.

It's Not True Shamir: The core benefit of Shamir's Secret Sharing is the ability to have a threshold (e.g., 3-out-of-5 shares needed to recover), which adds tremendous flexibility and security. The Keystone method does not offer this.

Verdict

The Keystone 3 Pro is a powerful and secure hardware wallet, but its marketing around "Shamir Backup" is misleading. If you are a user who specifically wants the standardized, flexible security of a true SLIP-0039 implementation, you will be disappointed. For everyone else, it's a fantastic device, but be sure you understand the limitations of its proprietary backup system before you commit.

Pros:

Excellent build quality and screen.

Truly air-gapped operation.

Good software support (e.g., for MetaMask, BlueWallet).

Generally feels very secure.

Cons:

Misleading "Shamir Backup" that is not the standard SLIP-0039.

Proprietary backup system lacks interoperability and threshold flexibility.

I’m very satisfied with my Keystone purchase — everything went smoothly, from the ordering process to the delivery. The complete kit, including the Seed Phrase tablet, felt like a well-thought-out and high-quality package. As a final touch, the small gadget that allows you to reuse the box really surprised me in a positive way.

Overall, it’s a very cohesive and appealing product. I also found the website and the FAQ guidance extremely helpful, which made it much easier for me to navigate this new world of hardware wallets.

Absolutely a 5-star experience from start to finish!

I purchased the Keystone Bundle Pack (Keystone Pro 3, Tablet Plus + Wallet Pouch + Pouch), along with the 3-Year extended warranty.

What a huge mistake on my part.

1) They only include a very short USB-C to USB-C cable, to connect to your laptop and/or wall charger.
2) For the exorbitant price, they don't even include a wall charger! I had to purchase a 5v/1a wall charger separately.
3) There's no toll-free Customer Service/Technical Support phone number.
4) All "support" (and I use that word loosely) is done via email.
5) Their response times to Customers is very slow!
6) They insult the Customers intelligence by blaming the problem on the Customer! This is what they wrote to me in an email, verbatim: ("After careful evaluation, our technical team has confirmed that the issue with your device was caused by improper operation, not a hardware defect. Therefore, the warranty refund cannot be processed.). Unbelievable!!!!
7) Because they are based in Hong Kong, you will have to find a lawyer in China, should you choose to proceed with legal recourse, as I am now exploring.
8) You will also be unable to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau if you are dissatisfied, as they are based out of Hong Kong.

My device wouldn't hold a charge, so I went through their appropriate channels & followed all their steps. I even purchased a separate wall charger, according to the specs they advised me of, via email (5v/1a). It still wouldn't charge! After three days, miraculously it began to charge.

Being extremely dissatisfied with their slow response times & their lack of professionalism, I informed them that I was not impressed. What good is a 3-Year extended warranty, when they treated me so poorly after only one month?

I STRONGLY URGE ANYONE READING THIS REVIEW, TO READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS FIRST, BEFORE BUYING ANYTHING FROM THEM!!! DON'T BE FOOLED BY THEIR HIGH RATING. I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF THOSE HIGH RATINGS ARE FAKE REVIEWS!

The Keystone tablet was a high quality product

I'm very satisfied with the professional and friendly service. Everything was clearly explained, communication was fast and transparent, and the entire process went smoothly. Keystone truly delivers quality and reliability. I definitely recommend it!

It would be nice if there was someone to talk to about setting up the 3 pro

The experience was as advertised. My order was received when it was promised. The product's directions were easy to read and easy to install.One suggestion: My confirmation email had a response which stated I bought the tablet from an individual rather than the company and there was a header with a foreign language which may have been chinese? It caused me to just wait for the product to be mailed and not to open up the tracking window as I am leery of things which could be construed as not legitimate. As I am a United States customer it may help to have confirmation emails sent in english. As I said, though, everything turned out great!

Overall, the product browsing process, guidelines on how to use the products and the checkout process are smooth. The only recommendation I have is that the Tablet should include a sticker for user to write something such as labelling. I bought 3 tablets and I need to know which tablet is which and had to write on separated sticker and stick on them.

I think it is probably the most secure wallet out there currently.

It is great that you get 3 wallets in one.

Setting up wasn't difficult and very easy to confirm your seed phrase.

Great that it has a pass phrase

Once setup, quite easy to use.

Would like as enhancements:
- for people who have fat fingers, i find it hard to type the numbers when logging in, sometimes I have to do 2 attempts due to fat fingers. Though I haven't used finger print as I think people could take your finger to unlock it.

- disappointed that some blockchains were not supported such as DOGE and that I have to use ETH blockchain to send it to my cold wallet as ETH gas fees are high.

- I don't really like having to use different hot wallets to connect to the keystone depending on the coin/token bought.

How I use it.
- For the big holdings, e.g. BTC, ETH use Keystone 3 pro
- For the temporary holdings, use a tangem

What I like about my two steel tablets is how fun and secure it feels to save my words. no matter where i hide them, I know they will last longer than I will in this world xD

Built very well and easy to store

I was very impressed with the quality of the keystone wallet. I did not expect it to be so robust.

Website was easy to navigate and purchase and my Keystone 3 Pro came faster than expected. Packaging was beautiful and thoughtful (e.g., repurposable elements). The device itself is clean and compact and the getting-started instructions easy-to-follow. I wish it shipped with a fuller battery since I had to charge it for 30 minutes before I could use it.

I am pleased with the device and confident in its functionality. I have successfully integrated it with Sparrow and several other wallets.

Firmware update is very easy via microSD.

I am also satisfied with the Keystone team’s responsiveness to user feedback and suggestions in Discord. I proposed extending the passcode range to 6 digits up to 8 digits, and they are currently evaluating this proposal. Additionally, I suggested the integration of HashPack and HBAR, and they have acknowledged this request.

The fact that both the hardware and software are open-source makes me feel more secure in using the device.

The price of the Keystone 3 Pro is very justifiable. It is less expensive than the leading competitors, yet they deliver so much value.

Order was delivered quick and in great shape. Very sleek device. I like it!
