Horrendous kitchen install experience
I'm a retired bespoke kitchen unit hand painter so have some experience of seeing kitchens fitted. This is some of our experience with John Nicholls Kitchens:
We have had the most terrible experience you could not expect from John Nicholls Kitchens. Great experience at sales but the installation was a nightmare.
The team sent were at best amateurish. The mess alone would put you off, they trashed our front lawn. We had an overflowing skip with rubbish blowing about at 2am because the wind got up and it blew over next door's garden so I'm up sorting it!
The install; I'd be surprised if they've fitted a kitchen before. To be fair to them Nicholls had not even given them a proper drawing of the build, I had to obtain that on the first day of install and print it out for them but they still got it wrong and did not follow the drawing, can they read a drawing?. There were so many things wrong with the build that there are too many to list here. However, on my complaint and probably the fact I still owed them £1000 they sent out their contracts manager Nic, and to be fair he immediately agreed with me on what was not done correctly and proceeded to get everything fixed. This included new worktops and new sink both badly marked. A lot of the woodwork had to be redone and flooring relayed, plus other stuff. At the end we have the kitchen we wanted, mostly thanks to Nic and no thanks to the "oh that'll do" cowboys they'd sent here in the first place, that frankly couldn't give a toss, no idea why Nicholls put their reputation on the line by using them. So finally a great kitchen but build started early December finished in March and a great deal of stress and heart ache along the way. So much so that, although the flooring they laid in the hallway is still not right, I have paid the final instalment and turned down fixing it because I do not want them back in my house.
Do I recommend Nicholls, hell no, but you probably got that.
