Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 72 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers appreciate the significant time savings and improved efficiency in their photo editing workflow, particularly for retouching tasks. People find the AI tools effective for various features like glare and blemish removal, and the ability to batch edit is highly valued. Reviewers also note that the company is responsive to feedback and frequently introduces new features. However, a significant number of people were dissatisfied with the customer service, describing it as unresponsive and unhelpful, often providing generic or delayed replies. Some customers also experienced issues with credits expiring unexpectedly, leading to loss of purchased credits. Additionally, there's a strong sentiment of betrayal among some users due to the company's release of an AI headshot generator, which they feel directly competes with their professional work and has raised concerns regarding the potential use of their uploaded images in its development.

Could’ve Been a Game-Changer, but the Trial Experience Was a Mess

I had high hopes for Evoto, not just as a photographer, but as a busy mom of two toddlers trying to improve my workflow and client turnaround. I scheduled a paid client session specifically to test their 7-day free trial with no credit card, so I could see if their AI features would be worth the investment and could handle my most-used retouching steps.

I signed up for that no-card trial late one evening, but when I logged in the next morning, I had zero credits. I contacted support and was told the no-card trial “no longer exists.” I explained that I had signed up the night before and even offered proof. Their response was that I should try creating a new account on a different device, which I did, but the offer was gone from everywhere, almost immediately after my support chat. This, I was later told, is what led to both of my accounts being blacklisted without notice.

After over 24 hours of not being able to access Evoto at all, support finally admitted that both accounts had been blacklisted in error and restored access. However, by the time I was let back in, I had less than 24 hours left on my trial.

Then came a flood of conflicting and poorly timed emails:

At 9:00 PM, I got an email saying that my trial is close to ending on the 21st and if I canceled on the 20th before 11:59pm I can still use my credits for 24 hours and that unused credits could roll over if I subscribed. I thought that was a little strange, because in the Terms & Conditions It stated pretty clearly that if I decide to not follow through with a subscription after my trial is over, those credits will not roll over and I would lose them.

At 11:11 PM, I received a fraud alert from my bank: Evoto attempted to charge my card $269. 48 minutes before the trial ended. I now have to contact my bank to have my ony debit card turned back on and it's a weekend, so I have no access to my money until monday.

At 11:58 PM, I manually canceled it myself.

At 11:59 PM, I received an email saying my subscription had been canceled on the 21st and my subscription has started. I'm able to use it until the end of this billing cycle. ( I don't know how that's possible being that it was still the 20th, and they sent that email at 11:59pm a minute after I had already canceled. )

At 11:59pm at the same time as that other email was sent, I received a confirmation that I have canceled my subscription and my credits do not roll over. If I change my mind I can still explore there full subscription plans at any time.

At exactly 12:00 AM, I received another confirmation saying my cancellation had gone through as requested.

Shortly after, I got two more emails saying my payment method failed and to update my card or contact my bank and they'll try again no specified time was given.

I only had time to export three partially edited photos, nowhere near enough to evaluate how Evoto would handle the editing steps I need for every client gallery (skin tone cleanup, glasses glare, subtle smile fixes, lighting balance, etc.).

I planned my workflow and my client timeline around this trial. Not just to play around with the software, but to test whether it could become a core part of my editing process. Instead, I lost days of access, had to deal with blacklisting and billing confusion, and was nearly charged early for a full subscription.

What I was able to use impressed me. The features genuinely could save me hours. But this experience left me unable to make a fair decision and worse, caused me to fall behind on delivering a paid gallery.

I hope Evoto takes this seriously and gives me the opportunity to actually try the platform as intended, without errors or stress.

Hi Alyssa,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience in such detail — we’re genuinely sorry to hear how frustrating and disruptive it was.

First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for the confusion around the trial, the blacklisting error, and the billing miscommunication. You placed your trust in us during a paid client session, and it’s unacceptable that we didn’t meet your expectations — or our own standards — at such a critical time.

Your feedback highlights serious issues in our trial system, support communication, and billing workflows. We're already reviewing what happened in your case and have escalated this internally to prevent others from going through the same experience.

We also understand how precious your time is — especially as a busy mom and professional. While we’re glad to hear the parts of Evoto you were able to test impressed you, we’re deeply sorry you weren’t given a fair chance to truly evaluate its value before being disrupted.

We’d love the opportunity to make this right. Please kindly check our reply to your messages so we can further assist you.

Thank you again for your honesty. It’s only through feedback like yours that we can continue to improve.

I was a huge fan of Evoto until they…

I was a huge fan of Evoto until they randomly suspended my account during a client project with no warning and no resolution after I reached out. I had just started their free trial the day before, didn’t receive the credits I was promised, and when I followed up with chat support, I had explained that I had signed up for the free 7-day trial with 200 credits (no credit card required) the day before, but when I logged in the next morning, none of the credits showed up. That’s when I contacted support via chat to figure out what was going on.

I was told the 200 credit free trial was no longer being offered, but I had literally just signed up for it. I told the support agent: “Do you want me to make another account to prove you’re still offering it?” because I could still see the offer was available and I was being asked for all kinds of proof. (I guess my screenshots weren't good enough for them.)

When I went to make another account for proof, it was suddenly no longer visible or advertised anywhere, which was suspicious. I spent a lot of time trying to find the same trial page again, and once I got fed up, I just went ahead and used a new email/account and signed up for the highest free trial subscription package that was being shown to me. Instead of fixing the issue they locked me out of my account. Due to being locked out of my account i'm not even going to be able to cancel my annual subscription that will be kicking in in just a couple of days.

I now can’t finish paid client work because of their platform, and support has gone silent. I’d be cautious relying on Evoto if you’re working on real deadlines or expect transparency.

Hi Alyssa,

We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience — especially during a time when you were relying on Evoto to support paid client work. That’s never the kind of stress or disruption we want our users to face, and we understand how deeply frustrating this must have been.

The confusion around the free trial credits, combined with the account suspension and the lack of timely support, clearly created a breakdown in trust. We take that very seriously. We’ve looked into this situation and can see how miscommunication and system behavior contributed to your account being flagged — and that should never have happened without notice or a path to resolution.

We also understand the urgency and pressure of working with real client deadlines. Locking you out of your account without a clear explanation or timely assistance is unacceptable, and we’re reviewing both our support response times and our account management protocols as a result of your feedback.

We’d really appreciate the chance to make this right. A member of our support team will be reaching out directly to help restore full access to your account, ensure no unintended subscription charges go through, and offer a trial extension so you can complete your evaluation — and your project — without added pressure.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope we can earn back your trust.

The app is good

The app is good. I am still a learner in photography so I don’t take that much pictures. I bought 1200 credits in 2024 and we in 2025 all my credits are gone.I still had 1100and something credits . The app said they expired in 2years which I still feel that that’s some bullish, I pay for those credit , I don’t think there should be a window.I literally don’t write reviews but this app has left me in shock. I was supposed to edit some graduation pictures, now I don’t even know what to do.

It's definitely the best for editing glasses glare, stray hairs and subtle body/face adjustments. It makes the editing process so much quicker, especially when editing in bulk.

Evoto for my…

I’ve really enjoyed using Evoto for my portrait photography workflow. The skin retouching feels natural and flattering, and I especially appreciate how the body reshaping tool is handled—it’s subtle, tasteful, and gives just the right amount of control without overdoing it. It’s a great balance between artistic enhancement and respecting the subject’s authenticity. Thank you for creating such a thoughtful and efficient tool!

Save so much time

I can now edit wedding and newborn galleries in literally moments. Tasks that used to take all day! The results also look more natural than some of the other software I was using. But by far my favourite features are the glasses glare remover (like magic) and being able to match all images for exposure.

Evoto is very impressive! I’ve mostly used it to edit skin to remove acne and wrinkles while still maintaining real skin texture. It’s saved so much time compared to cloning/stamping in PS!
