Avoid Dutton One.

Avoid Dutton One.

I purchased a vehicle for $28,400 which was damaged during transport before I ever received it. The repair quote has come back at $15,206.50 — over half the value of the car — involving major work to the roof, sunroof, glass and multiple panels.

Despite this, Dutton One have refused to refund the purchase price and are insisting on repairing the vehicle instead.

To be clear — I have never accepted delivery of the car in this condition. This is not what I agreed to buy.

Transport was arranged by Dutton One, yet they are now attempting to shift responsibility elsewhere rather than resolving the issue properly.

I’ll be pursuing this further, but I wanted to make others aware of how this has been handled.

If anyone from Dutton One would like to step in and resolve this appropriately, I’m open to contact.

The most dodgy dealership in existence

The most dodgy dealership in existence. I tried to buy a car from them, their Western Australia operation, paid the holding deposit and went about getting finance. They wanted me to use their finance company, Finance One, even more dodgy than the dealerships. They then sold the car from underneath me with a deposit paid and a contract in place.

Way overpriced as compared to the same…

Way overpriced as compared to the same models being sold elsewhere.

The price on CarSales I found to be misleading as they tried to charge almost $3000 on top of the listed price for "dealer delivery" at the dealership.

Made a decent offer at the marketplace value, which was rejected.

Car still sits for sale a month later.

Disappointing Sales Experience

I had an extremely disappointing experience with the sales team at Dutton One Windsor Brisbane, led by their completely unprofessional manager. Their tactics were aggressive, misleading and downright deceitful.

From the start, they presented an inflated price for the vehicle and then attempted to pressure me into accepting it. Fortunately, I saw through their tactics and chose to walk away rather than be manipulated. Amazingly, as I was leaving, they suddenly dropped the price to exactly what I had originally offered—proving how artificial their pricing strategy was.

Then came the issue with my trade-in. They claimed damage that required an outrageous repair cost, restarting the whole negotiation process. When I threatened to cancel the deal unless they charged a fairer amount—half of what they originally quoted—they instantly backed down. Clearly, their pricing is as flexible as their integrity.

If you're in the market for a new vehicle, do yourself a favour and look elsewhere. The aggression, deception and high-pressure sales tactics here are not worth the hassle. If you do decide to engage with them, be prepared for a frustrating and disingenuous experience.

Beware of Dutton One Melbourne: A Nightmare Experience

I recently had the absolute misfortune of dealing with Dutton One Port Melbourne, and let me tell you, it has been nothing short of a nightmare. I purchased a used Peugeot 3008 and opted for express delivery from Melbourne, expecting a smooth transaction given the high-end reputation of this dealership. Instead, I was met with one of the most unprofessional and frustrating experiences I have ever encountered.

After I placed my order and paid in full, including for the express delivery, I was left in the dark for an entire three weeks. Not a single word from the salesman. No updates, no communication—nothing. I had to chase them up myself, which is unacceptable when you've spent a considerable amount of money on a vehicle.

When the car finally arrived, I was horrified to find that it was in far from the pristine condition that had been advertised. The listing mentioned no imperfections, yet there were multiple issues with the paint and body. To make matters worse, some of these flaws had been crudely covered up with what can only be described as a botched attempt to hide the damage. This was a blatant misrepresentation of the vehicle's condition.

Upon contacting the dealership to address these issues, I was met with further disappointment. Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed the damage on the transport company. They then tried to convince me to pay for the repairs out of my own pocket, with the promise of reimbursing me later. Needless to say, I declined. Why should I be out of pocket for their incompetence? Their excuse for not handling the repairs themselves was that it was "too hard" for them to organise, despite the fact that they have a dealership in Adelaide!

When I finally took the car to their recommended crash repairer, the owner there pointed out even more issues with the car—problems that I hadn't even noticed. He sent a detailed quote to Dutton One, but of course, this was completely ignored. No follow-up, no acknowledgment, nothing. I was left to deal with a damaged vehicle and a dealership that clearly couldn't care less.

In conclusion, I would strongly advise anyone considering doing business with Dutton One Port Melbourne to think twice. Their lack of communication, failure to deliver as promised, and unwillingness to take responsibility for their mistakes are beyond disappointing. Save yourself the headache and take your business elsewhere. This dealership does not deserve your money or your trust.
