Amazing locations! Excellent and friendly staff. Very organized and accommodating managers. Facilities are super clean with excellent hours of operation. A++

Unsafe premises

I TRIED TO EMAIL THE ADDRESS THEY GAVE HERE. Host storagevautlcanada.com not found. SO MUCH FOR CREDIBILITY. I WILL NOW CONTACT CONSUMER PROTECTION. I have been a client of Depotium for over 10 years. They keep increasing their price yet since one year there is no service and they call it no contact self storage. The Murray location is now unsupervised and no one is ever there to help or provide supervision of the premises. There have been homeless people living in their locker there and I have reported to Claude when he was working there that there were people taking drugs passed out in the bathroom and sure enough he found one and told him to leave. It is unsafe for clients to be there alone.

No response to email

I have been renting a unit in your 344 Robert Bourassa location for 3 years. I have been overcharged and I’ve been trying to connect with the management team for a month. Nobody is replying to my emails, even though I received a phone confirmation they have been received. The only option available to me is to take time off to go there in person. This is my client experience with your team.

UPDATE: I received a very timely response to my review and I contacted the email address provided today. (11/2).

Hi, just a simple complain.
At the first time I was taken by depotium in 100 Blvd Toronto, I was very happy,they had a great service, so as I need to go to my country to renew nmy passport for a month, they gave me the 4 weeks free and then added one more week.
Everything was good,and then, I was about to leave, but a week before my departure date,my grandfather died so I had to stay. Then I called them to ask if I can have 2 more weeks ,just time to burry my G.F and getting back so they said no, then u paid for a month which is 400$ something. And instead of just losing 400$ for a week,I decided to reschedule my flight for 3more weeks so I can enjoy my family and be with them after funerals so everything was good,I paid for a month. Now, as I am still here in my country, my ticket is for the 23rd of march. I send everything,my ticket to prove it, and then I called because: COVID-19 IS EVERYWHEVERYWHERE AND MY COUNTRY CLOSED THE BORDER,SO NO FLIGHT IN AND OUT! SO I CANNOT GO BACK TO MONTREAL WITH ANY KIND OF WAY. I called to explain, as I am in my country, I AM NOT WORKING IN MY COUNTRY,I WORK IN CANADA,MY HOUSE IS IN CANADA,SO I AM HERE WITH NOTHING WAITING FOR BORDER TO OPEN,I though ,depotium could have something to help like facilities payment or something as every institutions contribute. I called and heat did they said: no m'am you always have problem everytime and you have to pay if you stay or take your car. It was tour choice to go on vacation,but sir, i said many times that was to renew my passport,Death of my grandfather and COVID.Don't depotium understand that was not my fault? So meaning death is my fault and my problem,and covid19 is also my problem too,am I the one who made my Grandfather died? Or am I the one that closed border! That was fine but the way depotiun gave answer to me was really mean!!!!
So I got my ticket to go ,but as Covid is there ,no flight. And I am not working here or anything. That was the only problem, if said kindly and without make me feeling guilty that will be fine. Answer is : you have to pick up your car at 25th of march, in case you have to pick up the car,is there is someone who can pick up the car? Who? With what key? Am I going to build wings and fly by my wings to go to Canada and pick my car up? Its not human,no comprehensive. But as I have no choice I will pay at 23rd ,but I will never,never go back .

Insurance package is a scam

The lockers were slightly on the expensive side but things were going great until I found a hole in my locker one morning. All my items were filled with dust and many damaged. This was in August. It is now March and I am still waiting on my insurance payout (I had paid extra for their insurance package). I haven't received any email about it, every time I call the office they tell me to wait and offer me no updates on the situation. I have tried to contact the regional manager multiple times by phone and email but he never answers/gets back to me. It is starting to feel like a scam. I don't think I will ever get my money back and might even have to take legal action soon.
If you plan on storing valuable items DO NOT go with Depotium since the same thing might happen to you.

I strongly recommend avoiding Depotium

I strongly recommend avoiding Depotium! Both the Manager in St. Hubert and Regional Manager are completely unprofessional.

I moved out of province and trusted them with my keepsakes for two years. I had purchased their "protection plan" as well, for added peace of mind.

In March 2019, a truck was picking up my stuff. I notified the Manager at Depotium St. Hubert the day prior. The truck showed up the next morning and informed me my stuff was wet!!! The truck driver actually had to buy boxes from them to put wet stuff in. This was their issue, not mine!! It stunk, precious items I paid to store there were ruined.

I called Depotium and got a complete run around. The customer service rep informed me, they had an issue with the roof above my storage unit and knew about it at least a full week before pick up. I was never informed of the issue from the Manager or anyone else!

The Manager told me she was "Just an employee" and could not help me and I would have to speak to the Regional Manager. I was told he would have to call me once he spoke to his Manager. Since then, I have been calling him. The last time I called on May 8, 2019, he said he would get back to me in 24 hrs (it is now May 23, 2019). Still no response.

Terrible customer service. They will take your money for sure, but don't expect service when they are at fault. If this is how the rest of the company is run, buyer beware.

Very disappointed.

I moved( with Anber April 5 -a very…

I moved( with Anber April 5 -a very positive experience), and as I hadn't a permanent address yet, I needed to put my stuff in storage; they recommended Depotium as I needed something downtown and Depotium has several branches located centrally for easy access. I first contacted the Murray st. branch and the manager was very helpful when I explained my anxiety about the movers being on time at my apartment, so that there would be sufficient time to unload my belongings from the truck and place everything in a container before 5:30pm. The guy, (Claude, I think) offered to stay on a little while, but just to be sure, he told me to contact the branch on Robert Bourassa & William as they are open till 6:00. Yousef is in charge, and he was very helpful & reassuring, confirming availability of 10' container, inviting me to check it out (which I wasn't able to do until the actual moving day) and when I arrived on the afternoon of April 5th, I was very impressed. Polite, efficient service, all the papers had been prepared, storage space ready for inspection: clean, heated, spacious, well organized - despite my unit being on the second level, quick unloading as trolleys, dollies, huge loading elevator provided and my highly skilled movers (Anber), managed a brilliant and fast transfer from truck into container. Polite, pleasant & helpful staff made for a stress free experience; highly recommend Depotium.Aniko Adeline

False advertising and no support

I signed a contract with them and was told nothing was due for the first month except administration fees (paid) and a $20 padlock. When I returned to the facility to unload a truck, my code did not work as a $17 charge for insurance was pending when I was told it was offered for the first month (I asked as I was planning to uselater my own insurance). The only choice left was to find within the day another competitor to unload our truck.
I called their support line but was told they can do nothing for us as only the local admin can solve the issue on Monday. Even paying immediately the fee would not solve the problem as their system is not synchronized in real time (or near real time).

Pricing going up and service going down

The price of units is accelerating in cost each year while service is going down. I've noticed standing water outside units. In the past, there was one person managing the facility and it was fantastic, he was always on-site and making sure your belongings were safe. Now there is a revolving door of employees, that seem annoyed when you show up to get into your unit. Prices are increased each year at a rate that far exceeds increased costs and inflation. Most people rent here as the rates were cheaper than renting storage units in Montreal, but there is a cost in driving to this remote location. If things continue the way they are, they will lose more clients.

Everything was fine

Everything was fine

The lady at the desk was always cool with me even if I was not always able to pay in time every month. So next time I need a storage unit, I'll be back to Depotium Candiac for sure and I will recommand to friends.

What's even better, we will prorate your billing for the times you don’t need an entire 4 weeks. This way, you don’t have to ever pay for the time you do not use. Simply give us a week notice before your current cycle ends, and we will adjust your billing for the upcoming cycle accordingly. It’s as simple as that. :)
