overpriced and bad service
My expirience with this shop/workshop until now:
1 time:
~4 years ago i was too lazy to collect info and to put together a new PC by myself and i thought - this time to delegate this task to "professionals" (cost a bit more but can spare some of my time on this, at least so i hoped).
So then i went to the Weingarten shop in Erlangen to make a order for new pc, discussed with salesperson at the frontdesk main components that i can afford and the shop can arrange, at the end we gone through the list, i asked if the cooling system on CPU is realy enough for this processor - yes,yes should be enough, was said to me.
Ok, request done, after some days/weeks i fetched the new pc. At home first thing that i noticed - processor was too hot, even in idle state (50-60 °). With relativ high load the temperature went to 90-100° in some minutes..
So went to the shop again - yeah, seems to be a little high, as alternativ you can buy a small watercooling (so additional cost for the watercooling and the "maintenance work"). The person that assured me that the first cooler is enough was on ill absentia..
At least with the new watercooling the processor was cooled very good so i thought for my self - one time issue, can happen to everyone.
2 time:
Now after more than 4 years after bying the computer in this shop in 2021 the temperatures of CPU were again too high. Ok, brought the PC for checkup - after some time i was called - the pump of watercooling seems to be defect. Asked if they have the same or similar one - no, we have bigger one for almost double the price (as i want to replace this PC completely anyway much spending here would be unnecessary). Ok. which alternatives do you have - "normal" cooling with radiator and fan, for about 50-60 Euro - ok, how would cost me as whole - ~160 Euro as whole, with maintenance and "cleaning" fee. Ok, do it.
After some time i get a SMS - computer is ready to be fetched, ~260 Euro are to be paid - what/how - there are now 2 maintenance hours in the bill (so this "maintenance" time was ridiculous (why, i will explain in a moment) and i felt now ripped off here)..
At this moment i thought for myself - never again with this shop.
Ok, fetched the "repaired" PC, PAID the bill, connected at home. The temperatures were almost the same as with broken water cooling from before (40-50° in idle state, and at 90-100° in full load)..
So now i investigated myself, tried to throttle the processor over power management so that it would not go over specific frequence - did a little help, but not much. Other tricks from internet did not helped too.
So then i byed thermal compound and took a look on now connected cooling system - at first look i discovered that the radiator, that is connected "directly" (over thermal compound) was not too "limp"and can be moved a little (i think because of that there could be some air inbetween and therefore heat conducting did not worked properly).
Ok, dismanteled the fan and then the radiator - the thermal compound seems to be ok/enough. Then removed the old thermal gel and put new one, build everything together again, screwed it this time pretty solid, but nut too much.
The whole action (dismantle and installing of cooling system again) took me 20 minutes at most and that as not professinal who do it day in day ot, that why i can not believe in these 2 hours "maintenance" from before.
After i connected the PC again - 25° in idle state and maximal 65 ° in full load...
So now i thinking myself - was it just a mistake (again) or was it purposedly wrong/insufficient connected.. in both cases would it probably lead to burned out processor (over time)..
I for myself know now very well that i will never go to this shop again.
P.s. reply to the reply from Weingarten PC-Service GmBH (somehow i did not figured out how to make the reply on reply in the actual ui, therefore as P.s. here):
Hallo Weingarten PC-Service GmBH (owner):
