This has been my second experience with this website, and, to be honest, it was better than my first one. The first time (years ago) some other member tried to blackmail me, but after reporting that to C-date, they did absolutely NOTHING. Fortunately this time around, nothing like that happened. But still, the possibilities offered here are very much below acceptable. There's no way to let other members know who you are, what you're looking for, etc.
Beyond that, I'll just let the 1,1 star average speak for itself. Be ashamed. Be very, very ashamed. If you really want to be a viable dating website, either improve (a LOT) or start over...
In response to the reaction... Noel... Seriously... I work in Customer Support myself. I believe in the software I'm supporting. If at some point I found myself working in Customer Support for C-Date, and I saw this sh*t... I'd resign and start looking for a job that at least adds some value to my life...

This is a scam site. If you chat with someone they will deletethe account. Ask where they live and can prove who they are they delete account. Proper SCAM SITE. They take your money even when you cancel the subscription. 99% of the people on the site are fake and set up by the company. The company even responded to some messages. As soon as you message someone they are never online again. They steal profiles from other sites. I have all the proof. And will be reporting you for a scam site. DO NOT USE THIS SITE.

This vile company got me interested in a one of month trial of £9.96 to join up, now they want my title and full name and full address and telephone number activate my premium membership account, but I don't want to give full name and address to them after reading all this review.
They have setup an automatic payment on my PayPal account and I did manage to cancel this scamming from my Paypal account. but I am now stuck how can I cancel my subscription from them, I can't even see my account to remove my self from their site and cancel my subscription from them . Every time I try to login c date, automatically take me the activate your premium membership account.

Total scam site the site is that bad that girls name will be changed with same photos mid conversation with someone. You will only get matches that fit the profile you are looking for & they will keep it going for as long as they think they have you.
You are better off burning your money at least you will get some heat from the flames, which is more than you will get for your money off this site.
TOTAL SCAM DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!!!!

Noel you are the man but please don’t reply to this review, you are not even real human😂

I joined last week and figured out quite quickly it was a scam site . Within the first few hours it was obvious it was a scam site. I emailed them asking to withdraw my account . I filled out a form, they then said I didn’t send correct details to withdraw. I contacted them again after a day or so with the recommend procedure and they stopped responding. I then sent a letter to customer service asking to with draw as within the 14 days of contract , again no response . I have filled a police report and reported to Action fraud as they continue to not respond
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Interdate S.A., 13 rue du Commerce, L-1351 Luxemburg, LUXEMBURG; Fax: 00 44 207 691 78 03) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, fax or email). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory. We have also provided the withdrawal form.

I signed up to an account for one month only, as it was on offer and said £3.96. Or something like that. It then took a payment or £9.99. I flagged it up with C date straight away. And they said no you have to pay that. So I couldn’t be bothered arguing. I just said fine I will cancel anything. There was nothing about auto renewal and normally like most apps you just cancel your subscription. I informed C date of this the day I joined. I also cancelled my subscription on PayPal. Fast forward one month, I’ve barely been on it as it’s just fake profiles, annoying emails and doesn’t work. If you read all the other reviews they will say the same. I’m now being threatened with legal action if I don’t pay £49.99 as I never told them I wanted to cancel. Even though I only paid for a one months subscription. Not a rolling subscription. I’m just in the process of informing trading standards, this isn’t acceptable and I shouldn’t being threatened for £49.99. I will end up paying this as the £50 isn’t worth it even if their legal team can’t do anything. I will then open an investigation with PayPal into this along with this terrible review. Avoid at all costs and don’t give them any of your details. Stick to the main apps. One big scam. £50 might not seem a lot of money but it soon adds up. Disgusting service and the site needs closed down.
If you are reading this C date. My account is under my other email address before you say I’ve made the review up. Feel free to get in touch if you want it but I’d imagine you will take your £49.99 and run with it. Like you are doing with everyone else.

A TOTAL SCAM
Signed up for one month. Promised NO OBLIGATION!!!
Found that the advertising completely false and c-date can best be described as lots of dodgy profiles 100's of miles away, and not for any kind of normal "dating".
Was unable to delete my profile. Could not cancel the subscription.
Cancelled payments via PayPal instead.
Now they're chasing me for 5 TIMES THE VALUE!!!
I WILL GO TO COURT ABOUT THIS AND EXPOSE THEM. WILL UPDATE FURTHER.

I had signed up thinking this is a genuine website.
As per:
10. Right of withdrawal, information on exercising the right of withdrawal
Information on exercising the right of withdrawal
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
If you requested to begin the performance of services during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been provided until you have communicated us your withdrawal from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.
I have exercised my right of withdrawal and will be getting my lawyers in my law firm involved if my premium subscription is not removed.
I have emailed the trust pilot email, the customer service and service emails with the withdrawal form filled in and await your response within 2-3 days.
If I do not receive this, I will be taking legal action against the company.
The payment has already been cancelled via my bank for current and recurring payments.
I will also be backtracking the sign up payment back to the company to report and sue.
Regards.
UPDATE: Changing review to 2 star as quick response within a few days and acknowledged and cancelled my premium subscription. Though I do believe the process for cancellation could be easier by just adding a cancel subscription button. Thank you for the help in getting this resolved.

Here is a copy of my final communication with C-dates. I hope is may validate other people's experiences and help to warn off those considering membership.
"Thank you for telling me that my e-mail terminating my membership was not valid. The e-mail method was outlined in what you want me to believe was a contract. I copied and pasted the format from this pseudo-contract, where the e-mail address was provided.
You acknowledge my termination of membership, and therefore I regard the matter as done. I regard your attempt at invalidating my e-mail as specious gaslighting, and a failure in customer care.
A further piece of disingenuous behaviour is also substantively evidenced in the provision of a link to delete my site-membership. I clicked the said link. This did not terminate my membership. I was then offered strong advice not to delete my profile. I again clicked to terminate my profile - after all, I am a mature adult and I know what I want. Only then was I informed that: "We're really sorry a deletion is not possible right now."
For a second time I was led to believe I was able to do something one way, and then told I could not do it that way. I was then told to contact the customer service team. This is a breach of trust which should exist between service user and the service provider, and an invalidation of what you refer to as a contract. I will not contact customer service. I believe this is further manipulation and malpractice.
The service provided has been woefully inadequate, to the point of being fictitious:
A woman from Gravesend - nineteen years my junior, and a round trip of five hundred and twenty five miles from me wants to hear from me.
I have a lot in common with a woman from Basildon - five hundred and six miles round trip.
Waiting to hear from me is a woman in Kincardine - four hundred and thirty two miles round trip.
Then there is a woman, eighteen years younger than me and living in "Hilton". AA journey planner listed four Hilton hotels and a place in South Carolina.
I really wonder why I cannot delete my own profile, and what use it may be put to in furthering the charade of your providing a dating site.
My membership is terminated in view of your breaches of contract, and in your abject failure to provide an optimal level of service, including contradictory communications. I do not regard sending emails such as those above as constituting a service.
Regarding the payment your took from my credit card without my agreement or knowledge, this is to be returned by Friday 8th November 2024.
This matter is now closed.

C date as you will see from the many other reviews on this site is not to be trusted. I am being hounded by a German based debt collection agency working for them, over for a disputed membership of this dating site. This is a type of opportunistic scam, or at the very least, a baseless attempt to get money out of genuine users who were members of dating sites.
The process follows these usual steps:
- Upon joining the site, often on a trial basis, Cdate makes it extremely difficult or nearly impossible to cancel the membership. As a result, you're forced into the contract, and if you try to cancel, you're accused of breaching it.
- The company then resorts to making various threats, even involving solicitors or debt collectors to formally demand payment, warning that they will sue if you fail to pay. Stay well away. They are totally dishonourable.
As you will see from their reply below, stating their terms and conditions. They haven't informed me if the account is still active or if it has been cancelled as per my many emails to them. They have blithely passed it to a collection agency and now suggest that I deal with them over a debt I dispute even exists. They refuse to engage with you. This is their business model, they make it impossible to cancel a membership by shutting you out of your account, then avoid any response beyond dismissing themselves of any responsibility having brought in a third party debt collector to enforce a debt, threaten court action and still not respond to my original request to confirm the cancellation of any account still held by them in my name. I don't even know for example if I still have an active account with them. I dispute the fact that I even owe them anything. They are a utterly disreputable and if you read the other reviews on Trust Pilot you will see that I am not the only one with this issue. Perhaps we should consider a class action against them and issue a cease and desist order for harassment and demanding money with intent to defraud. THEY are the ones taking supposed legal steps yet they say I must contact their debt collection agency?
Again below as you see, they say they have no knowledge of an account yet they are harassing for money they say I owe them from an account they say i have. All they can do is pass me over to a debt collection agency who are merely issuing letter after letter demanding increasing amounts of money. I never received an email detailing anything like terms and conditions even though they say they sent it. Its all lies and subterfuge and the most abhorrent of business practices.

I wish I had checked this website before falling into their shady trap of a business,
First, they charged me almost 600 francs in a single payment, despite claiming that payments would be made weekly. This huge charge happened all at once, which was totally unexpected and misleading.
As soon as I realized they had charged me a one-time payment, I immediately contacted them – literally on the same day. I didn’t use the website at all after realizing their fraud, but despite this, I still received no answer, no refund, no nothing.
They also state that you can cancel at any time, but that’s simply not true. It’s impossible to cancel the subscription. There’s no refund, and you can’t reach anyone for help. They don’t respond to emails, and even when they tell you to contact their customer service or use their online complaints process, you get no answers. It’s just a loop of frustration with no resolution.
Worst of all, you can’t even delete your information from their website. You’re essentially trapped with no way to remove your personal data.
They are thieves and should be prosecuted- which I am currently seeking advice on. Do yourself a favor and avoid this scam at all costs!
AND C-Date I know you can find my data on your website because it's the same name and the same e-mail.

I'm experiencing the same situation as others here have mentioned, I joined 3 months ago, haven't been on dating sites since 2015 - long relationship which ended 2 yrs ago, thought I'd ease my way back onto it with this, how wrong I was. After joining, I thought it was strange I had about 20 matches with age ranges form 18 to 76 & some over 300 miles away. They drip feed you a couple of new contacts every couple of days, very weird - I tried to stop it within about 10 days, couldn't, initial price £9.96 - I contacted Nat West trying to end it but couldn't. I thought it was £ 9.96 a month - the end of the world but havent met anyone at all whilst on it & didn't expect the most recent email saying if I dont pay £49.90 within 7 days the debt collectors will be coming after me. This site does nothing but mince your brain, wandering "why can't I see annoys? Why all the age differences? Why so far away, etc." Absolute nightmare that you're paying for & they'll keep it up with threats for non-payment etc. I'll look into how I can report this site coz it's awful!!! If I could score - 5 stars I would, unfortunately you can only do +1.
