This company is incredibly frustrating to deal with! I got locked out of my account and needed to change some incorrect info on there, but despite sending them all the details they asked for it still wasn't enough. Every member of staff will tell you different things, and they just pass you from person to person. They are clearly not interested in keeping their customers! We are now going to go through the time consuming and expensive process of having to re-brand our whole company as they have our domain name and we can't do anything with it. I expect they'll probably post a standard 'please get in contact because we care' after my post but there's no point because they don't!
I get a lot of benefit from their newsletters. Always relevant, I often repeat their advice to our customers. The interface is clean and easy to use, while timely reminders are sent regarding renewals.
We used 123 reg to set up our own email address, and access our e mails via Outlook and Smart phone. This has always worked well for us, and the support team are very helpful, always managed to resolve our queries
123-reg is our preferred ISP due to ease of service purchase and very reasonable rates. Support responses are pretty swift too, so I have opened many 123-reg accounts for clients who want to control their own hosting. The control panel is simple to navigate and all domains can be managed centrally.
we have many domains with 123-reg and was fairly happy. however they have just added a hidden charge when you transfer away. this is like keeping your domain hostage. they are blaiming nominet but that is not true. They promised that all transfers - to and away - were free when i brought my domains from them !!! I would keep away from 123-reg at all costs.
Normally I think 123 reg are v good. But there's a but, no doubt due to the Heartbleed bug we were asked to change all email passwords on the domain. Which I did but this highlighted that there is no option for a user to reset their own password. and no option for "force password change" which would have saved me a job on the email accounts. This is very amateurish and I hope they resolve it soon. I have discussed this with them and requested a feature change. I will let you know
I've been having issues with my website for a number of days, and spoken to over 5 different other 3rd parties, seemingly with no solution to the extent that I was considering switching hosts.
I then spoke to a 123-reg representative, Robert, in the live chat support who gave me absolutely outstanding support and had my website back up and running within a matter of minutes! An extremely knowledgable and fast working representative that I'd recommend to anybody
So on Friday I decided to take the plunge and get a hosting package with 123-reg as iv bought domains from them, no problem in the past. Spent just shy of £200 on a three year business package as seemed like the best deal! So anyway after I purchased this I went to check my hosting package but was not there, I thought to myself maybe it will take couple of hours to show up, and decided to check it the following morning.
Saturday morning went to check to see if the hosting was there but was puzzled to see it wasn't! So took to contacting 123-reg via there ticket system. They did respond quite quickly saying that they will escalate the issue to there developers. Waited until early Saturday evening and heard nothing back... messaged them again but they did not reply!
Sunday I decided to try to live chat to one of them and they said there developers were still looking into it and will contact me when it's running! I waited and waited until 4 o'clock and heard nothing again so decided to go to the live chat support again....only for them to tell me that.... It can't be fixed today but tomorrow it will be!!!
Stay well clear of 123-reg if you want your online business to not be affected!
I had an issue - I was totally at fault, but 123-reg were very helpful and understanding - and resolved the issue to my satisfaction... I didn't expect this from such a large company, but it kind of restored my faith in large companies dealing with the smaller consumer!
